I knew there was an owl nest in the hollow crook of this tree--sure enough, she was in there peeking out at us! Female barred owl (Strix varia).

These to at 1920x1080 are 100 percent crops at my screen dimensions. The are high magnification in other words.

this is an excel spread sheet to calculate DOF values for my camera. autofocus is sometimes not reliable.. the DOF chart gives you an idea of the focus range you will get when you set manual focus on a focal length and f-number.

Useful for point and shoot cameras that are slow to focus in poor light.
