Once a week, I turn my basement into my own low tech studio. I usually work on these SP's late at night while listening to some music. I realized that it has sort of become my 'hideout.'
The idea came from wearing my friend's band's tee shirt all day as I was racking my brain. I decided to listen to their new EP while taking the shot. Check them out at www.myspace.com/thehideoutma
I love my new 50mm! Lighting provided by twisting my bendable desk around a pipe hanging from my basement ceiling. As I had to ramp up the ISO for this, I figured a B&W conversion would work well with the grain.
Nikkor 80-200/2.8 ED AF
Dynamic range enhanced using a couple of photo processing tricks gives to the photo a bit surreal atmosphere :)
Nikon D200 TC-200 Teleconverter + 35-70mm 1:3.3-4.5 lens (Zoomed to 70mm, this combination yields a 1:2 reproduction ratio)

I tried the 180mm along with the PN-11 (52.5mm) extension tube. Shooting handheld can be a little tricky but is has nice results.
Daffodil outside the hotel in Atlanta. Shot with Tamron SP 35-210mm f/3.5-4.2.. not a bad lens for macro!
Water lilies and lilypads on Lake Lucien. My work is on the shore of this lake, and there's a gazebo on the lake out back. Good place for a photo walk!
Looked up at work the other day and saw a raccoon out the window! Happened to have my camera, though I missed the focus just a bit.
