Testing out the focus confirmation feature

I'd have preferred a less busy background, but manual exposure, manual flash and manual focus with an extremely active toddler for a subject demands compromises.

Pretty flowers at Lake Como. On a walk with the Tamron 28mm f2.5.

Hallie at Westmonte Park, on one of the first cool and windy days of the fall/winter.

Wildflower by the retention pond near work. Trying out my new 500mm lens.

Not sure what this is.. it was about 1-1/2" long, attached to a tree, somewhat cocoon-shaped, and I think it's insect-related, but all the little tubes are odd. Hoping for an ID!

Mmm, Mr. Pibb is my favorite!

A buzzard flew over my house this afternoon, I was able to get a few shots despite using manual focus; buzzards fly quite slowly.

Greg, Larry, and Dave of Restless Heart at the Grand Ole Opry.

Quite difficult to capture fast moving objects with manual focus lens.

Orchideeënhoeve

An unfortunate cedar waxwing (Bombycilla cedrorum), one of a flock that flew directly into the side of the reflective glass building where I work. I counted 3 that didn't survive the impact. Sad, such beautiful birds.
