This is my first manual HDR, blending by myself in Photoshop. This was exactly what I saw. And the camera just could not produce it in one shot.
1/30 sec at f5.6. 18mm using kit lens. ISO 1600.
Forrest has taken to chasing shadows across our kitchen tiles lately. He's been fascinated by the movement of light as our shadows change as we move throughout the kitchen.
So lately, whenever we're in the kitchen, Forrest is focused on the floor at our feet, pouncing on the imaginary demons hidden in our shadows.

I just randomly used manual focus to capture this to see how the outcome would look like.
While the camera often determines shutter speed and aperture for the photographer, it doesn't know your creative intent. This week, challenge your self to assume creative control over the camera by using full manual mode. Select a subject where varying the aperture and / or shutter speed helps enhance the composition and visual qualities of the image.
