Hi all,
Got this idea today before going out for lunch. I watched some horror trailers on apple.com and this idea came across my mind. It's called "The Real Emily Rose" (Got the title idea from "The Exorcism of Emily Rose", one of the scariest horror film)

I took this photo back in August at a local festival, I asked a friend to play around a little with the unfortunate bland background as in the original photo, even he admits to going a little overboard... :)
Manipulation was done by Fred Sheppard, more of his restoration and manipulation work can be viewed at
And also many thanks again to EV Comp for allowing me to use his Fuji S2 camera that day (as there is now way I could have bagged this shot with my Lumix!)
This is a very simple way to spice up a picture. This was just a nice pic of two of our girls, Ellen and Chrissy sitting at our fireplace.
This is how easy it is. Just make a small picture, press CTRL J to make a new layer above the background , if it's people leave the legs so they can attach. Make a selection on your small image and stroke a white frame on it. Also put a shadow on it. Then be sure your picture and shadow are on one Layer and go to CTRL T for the Free Transform and give it a tilt.
Now go back to your background, go to Image. Adjust and Desaturate. And it is done.
I had to decide whether I wanted the bricks to line up or forget the tilt. So I went with the tilt. The top of the fireplace and the legs were easy. The bricks got me. This works a bit better with a plain wall. These instructions are for Photoshop, but I'm sure this can easily be done in other formats as well.

Just trying out some different methods for realistic water reflections. On this one I used a displacement map for the original distortion, then I added noise with a motion filter blur to simulate the water ripples
