Okay, this book took me months to read. It just didn't capture my attention. I was glad it was done. :)

Naseby, New Zealand, day 8 Oct 28, 2011 on our back to Christchurch.
Naseby, (the Jewel of the Manioto),
and 2000 ft above worry level, is a charming little holiday town located in forests on the Maniototo Plains, Central Otago
An historic gold mining town, it was once a thriving community of 5000 gold miners.
The gold rush lasted from 1863 to the 1930’s when the population declined and now
Naseby is best known as a popular holiday destination for New Zealanders and tourists alike.
The Library was open for anyone to read the papers!
Much of the town centre has been preserved from this era with Victorian architecture and historic buildings.
Many of the gold mining relics and tailings can still be seen if you explore some of the many walkways in the area.
Many of the walkways follow the extensive water channels that were constructed during the gold rush to supply the miners with water for sluicing and today are still
used for irrigation.
Naseby is surrounded by the Naseby forest which covers about 25 square kilometres. The forest is made up of Douglas fir, larch and pine trees and gives welcome shade in the hot summer months. Many walkways also thread their way through the forest.
Naseby is also well known for its cold winters which make the time honoured sport of Curling a very popular event
on the winter ice.
