Soldering the old power supply cable to a PC ATX mainboard power plug, plus a small circuit to produce a 50Hz signal as from the old power supply.
The new power supply is smaller, but collides with the switch and power plug. But only a mechanical problem.

I wanted to make a unique piece from pallets, and I think I accomplished it. Here's my Hexagonal Coffee Table. It used two pallets and only cost about 15 dollars!
If you want a challenge with a lot of rewards, try your own Hexagonal Coffee Table:
First, I dismantled a few pallets to find the right tones and thicknesses of wood, in the sizes I needed. I ended up using deck boards equaling about two pallets total. It was definitely a challenge to cut all the angles and get it all lined up, but it was fun!
I cut the pieces for the sub-frame, out of the pallet stringers. I made a box and then put a cross in the center so the table-top boards would have somewhere to mount. I installed the legs to the inside of the sub-frame box, and created a second box and mounted it low to create a shelf and also to provide added strength and support. I built a smaller shelf underneath in the center of the table.
After finishing the structural build, it was time to conquer the fun part - the top! I cut a center hexagonal shape to build off of; cutting the size so that each side was the width of a standard deck board. I centered and mounted it, and then began by mounting the six mainboards that make the "starburst"-pattern in the center. Then started filling in the remaining sections, carefully cutting the angles and sanding them to fit snugly. I mounted everything with screws and sanded it smooth, but left some of the interesting pallet defects and character intact.
I plan to stain and seal it to protect the beautiful wood for years to come.
Hope you enjoy it :) I know it was fun making this Hexagonal Coffee Table. Something about not throwing things away and finding the use for them really makes me happy!

The headphones pictured are Audio-Technica ATH-M30s, amazing headphones. Not top-of-the-line, but waaay waaay WAAAAY better than anything else in the $25-50 price range. For reference, they were sold some years ago for $120.
The Laserharp ALH-03 RGB is developed and produced by Airböurne Synthesizers in Luterbach, Switzerland in November 2012.
It features the following functions:
- high sensitive light receiver directly built-in in the main cabinet.
- 4 user programmable presets
- up to 33 diferent colours
- selectable beam number from 8 to 14
- user programmable note scale over 7 octaves
- selectable MIDI channel and playing mode
- octave shift up and down over pedals and also over the beams top left and top right
- lasers and receiver are covered with protective glass.

Es gibt Computer Läden und Shops die verkaufen keine Xeon CPU's gelten diese doch als Server CPU. Der Xeon 1230v2 hat die letzten Monate für viel Aufsehen gesorgt. Eine Sockel 1155 CPU mit Quadcore und vier weiteren virtuellen Kernen (Hyper-Threading). Die CPU unterscheidet sich nicht von den Core-i7 Prozessoren, der Xeon hat ebenfalls 8 MiByte L3 Cache. Man verzichtet auf 200Mhz und spart dafür nochmals knapp 8 Watt ein.
Der CPU liegt auch ein Lüfter bei, welcher eigentlich ausreichend ist. Dieser ist nur wenig hörbar, ich verwende ein Asrock B75 PRO3-M Mainboard Sockel 1155 (Intel B75, 4x DDR3 Speicher, ATX, 2x PCI-e, 2x USB 3.0), hab mit Hilfe des Boards noch ein wenig Strom weg genommen, den Arbeitsspeicher beheize ich auch mit weniger Strom. So hat man eine tolle Ökokombi die dazu noch sehr stark ist. Damit lässt sich dann alles gleichzeitig, machen. Arbeiten, Filme schauen und Surfen. Hier kann man mit ganz wenig Geld ein High End System aufbauen, welchem dann die grenzen nur durch fehlende OC Möglichkeit genommen werden. Die Kombi dürfte die nächsten 3-4 Jahre locker ausreichen.
Desweiteren verwende ich Corsair Vengeance Arbeitsspeicher (PC1600, 16GB, CL9) DDR3-RAM Kit, da ich mit der Komponenten Auswahl sehr viel Geld gespart habe, konnte ich mir die Samsung Samsung 840 Pro Series interne SSD-Festplatte 256GB (6,4 cm (2,5 Zoll), 512MB Cache, SATA III) anthrazit dazu kaufen. Mein Windows 8 bootet in 6 sek. (Benutzeranmeldung deaktiviert). Der Unterbau ist ideal. GIMP öffnet mit knapp 90 Plugins in 3 sek. vorher fast 40 Sekunden. Den drehenden blauen Kreis hab ich mit meinem neuen Rechner noch nicht gesehen.
Fazit:
Mehr Leistung bekommt man nicht für so wenig Geld. Ich war mehr als positiv überrascht, zum Thema gibt es sehr viel Stoff im Internet, einfach mal googeln. Hab viel in Foren gelesen und war anfänglich etwas verunsichert, es hat sich mehr als gelohnt.
