I LOVE Magic: The Gathering....it reminds me of long summer days with my friend Kristi. She had a cleric deck and I had a zombie deck and a single game would last for hours. It's too expensive to keep up with, and the same decks get boring, so it's a hobby I've put aside...but what a great game it was. :)
Saturday March 27th
Ah Magic...my old nemesis. I nearly bought some Beta Magic cards one day in a shop but decided on getting some crappy D&D cards instead. A year later I kicked myself after either Tak or David asked me to get some on a trip into "the big city" from Bella Coola. We got one starter and got hooked. We managed to get some each of our own from Williams Lake and played a bunch. After moving to Vancouver and going to university I got hooked even further. I ended up selling off most of them and getting a couple of the newest base set just to see how it's changed. Not a lot. I think I'll hang on to a few for Belly when she grows up. Now I just need to get a hold of some basic lands.
Isobel got up just as we went to bed and she slept really fitfully all night so I couldn't sneak back into our bed. Brandi's C-section scar was bothering her in the morning so after a brief morning snack Isobel and I retired to the living room for some Rice Krispies and stories. It was my gaming campaign day today so I spent most of the morning prepping for it. We headed out and the girls eventually retired home as there were too many people attending to let us keep track of the baby. The day went by fairly quickly and it was a lot of fun.
I came home and we ordered some pizza and did a bunch more finger painting. After getting Belly to bed I played a chunk of Final Fantasy 13 while Brandi uploaded some photos. Now it's my turn and I think we'll be going to be soon.

Trinket says that she's into Warcraft and role-playing and that she collects old "Magic: The Gathering" cards for the artwork... so I decided to make her a Parody-Magic card of her totem, the Hare.
Special thanks to my friend Faceplant - he plays a LOT of Magic so I enlisted his help for the conceptual design of this card... I figured a Snowshoe Hare would be a great "White" card, and that it should be a really fast creature. He suggested the "flavour" quote, a Monty Python reference that I just love!
So I hope that this card falls under the categories of "parody" and "fair use" and that I'm not going to get a Cease-and-Desist letter from Wizards of the Coast ;)
