swap: "GROUP: Totem Animal ATC and Trinket swap". Made for Trinket.
Trinket says that she's into Warcraft and role-playing and that she collects old "Magic: The Gathering" cards for the artwork... so I decided to make her a Parody-Magic card of her totem, the Hare.
Special thanks to my friend Faceplant - he plays a LOT of Magic so I enlisted his help for the conceptual design of this card... I figured a Snowshoe Hare would be a great "White" card, and that it should be a really fast creature. He suggested the "flavour" quote, a Monty Python reference that I just love!
So I hope that this card falls under the categories of "parody" and "fair use" and that I'm not going to get a Cease-and-Desist letter from Wizards of the Coast ;)

Recently I've started getting interested in Magic: The Gathering again. Jen and I have been to the comic shop three times this week. The first time we bought basic decks. The second time we got booster packs. And the third time we started looking at the individual cards. Currently we're each winning about half of the games. Here's the dining room table, at the conclusion of a game.

One of the big new announcements for Essen 2014 was Magic: The Gathering Strategy Board Game. Wizards of the Coast announced it without any details, and today it was revealed at the fair.
I really don't know what I expecte, but what we got is a miniature battle game based on the popular trading card game. I have no idea how much this game shares with the TCG, but it involves minis moving over a hex map hitting each other with dice. II'm personally a bit disappointed, but it might be a great specimen of its genre.
Made by Perki because after I got done winning Magic he and Velut would play very loudly to the wee hours of the morning. Only problem was I was the only one who had to get up and drag my butt into work.
If it were merely lethal, that would be sufficient. The art, however, is in maximizing the suffering it causes.
