Childhood memories of meeting with friends after school in a game store with a wharf cellar which we could us as a game room.
From Magic the Gathering. This began as a tablescrap for another project and evolved quite rapidly. It's very well balanced and stands up fine without supports, as the forward curve of the wings sets the point of balance wll within the footprint.

This is my favorite artwork of the Sword series from Magic the Gathering. The unique design within the sword compliments the lush plant design within the hilt. The guard of the sword is made of a series of plants.
The Sword of Feast and Famine is one of the strongest equipment in magic. This particular artwork of the card is more realistic rendition of the sword, as well as illustrates the two halves of the sword very well. The leaves are the feast and liveliness of the sword, that then also causes decay toward the blade.

It was inevitable really. I got into Magic the Gathering a little while ago and the first thing I wanted to do was build a LEGO model of one of the many creatures featured. I ended up choosing Deathmist Raptor: gatherer.wizards.com/Pages/Card/Details.aspx?multiverseid... - partly because I really like the card, and partly because I like it's concept. So I put together an LDD sculpture (again, would have been real life, but lack of reddish brown and dark orange!) and this is the result. This took about 9-10 hours to build, contains 629 bricks and contains a healthy mix of Constraction and System.
Built in LDD and rendered using Bluerender.

truth is, I'm going to see Kenna's exhibition at Reggio Emilia next sunday, so I thought, why not train myself in these long long long exposures that seem to bring dreamy impressions from all kind of light?
no, you can't use this as a Magic, the Gathering card :-)
