"Ludibundus" is Latin for "playful", or Schwyzerdütsch for "geeky young male, post-pimples but pre-girlfriend." Which makes the word a perfect name for a hot pink vending machine full of packages of Magic: The Gathering cards.
I walked right past this machine at the Zürich main train station like four times while being indecisive about the luggage lockers, before I realized what it was. Wonder what else is there that I missed?

Vendors made the most of the time. Folks setup the previous night, but high winds overnight took out the power. Originally the convention was going to have a delayed start, but due to no electricity in the near future the Saturday events at the Fairground were canceled.
These two had waited to hear the plan of whether the convention would happen that day or not, and then decided to do something to pass the time.

My first finished product with knitting Magic the Gathering mana symbols. I was just experimenting originally but I decided to keep going and make myself a little bag to carry my cards to and from our local game store. Thanks to everyone that gave me advice on my blog about knitting with two colors! It really helped!

My favorite planeswalker, attempted to be built in a similar style to eero okkonen, based on his recent nissa moc. Realized I was WAY shorter on regular green system parts than I thought a little ways in, hence the hockey chest and rahkshi head. Super happy with her head.
This is my nephew, Ben. He has, like, a bazillion uncles, but recently he decided I'm his favorite, and this weekend he flew by himself from Boston to Baltimore to spend some time with me. He's 14.
My wife Amy spent the weekend with Ben's mother, her younger sister, so it was just Ben and me and, boy, am I exhausted. I've forgotten what it's like to have a kid in the house.
Did I mention that I'm exhausted?
Anyway, this is Ben shortly after he arrived in Baltimore on Friday. (I had a lot more energy then.) He's shuffling up a deck of Magic: The Gathering cards for the first of a bazillion games he and I would play before he boarded his plane back to Boston this afternoon.
I'm grateful for my nephew Ben, and for being his favorite unzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

This is a scan of the sheet of images I gave to the tattoo artist who drew up the design for my lotus tattoo. That is indeed an image of the Black Lotus from Magic: The Gathering. I don’t know if Richard Garfield made the root chakra/source of power/black color connection accidentally or on purpose, but it was an important element in the web of influences that supported my decision to go with this concept for my tattoo.
