A reflection in the drop looks to me like a pink spider.

only 25 days have passed since i last had the camera outside scouting for insects in the yard, yet it feels like months

not much to shoot out there now that fall has settled in, so i opted for the local butterfly conservatory to get my fix

started looking for a proper identification until i read that there are around 1,000 species in north america…

Formica fusca are quite common ants in Poland - they usually occur in abundance on areas covered by sands. When disturbed those ants seem to show a bit cowardly behaviour escaping but don't they fool you - those ants can be quite aggressive.

seems like there are always flies around, and many of them don't get bothered by a lens encroaching upon their space and will just stand there, letting me snap off a series of fotos while playing around w/ compositions & settings and such

Bold and brilliant, these Scarlet Monkeyflowers (Diplacus puniceus) burn like twin torches among the chaparral. Native to Southern California, this species thrives in dry, rocky places where few others dare to bloom. Their fiery red petals and golden throats are more than eye-catching—they’re beacons for hummingbirds, who rely on their nectar. It’s nature’s version of a neon sign that reads: Feast here, pollinate later.

Gardens By The Bay

not any easy capture, so not going to win any awards for being tack sharp - these little monsters don't stay still for long when you're staring down on them w/ a macro rig, there's spikes everywhere making it hard to get the focus right - and the breeze didn't help... but i was happy enough w/ how this one turned out

have some other shots, closer up but w/ a shallower depth of field, which may work for a nightmarish take on this crazy-looking critter...

Photographed this wildflower (Sesuvium Portulacastrum) on the grounds of Naval Live Oak Preserve located in Gulf Breeze Florida during the early afternoon. This flower was photographed using the OM-1 Mark 2 using the 60mm (Olympus M.60mm f2.8 Macro) For this handheld capture the camera settings were: 1/400 sec at f/8, ISO 200. Post processing with ON1 Photo Raw 2025.2.

A sweet bee picks up her nectar from a lavender blossom.

this large female mantis has been hanging out in this clump of grasses for three days shy of six weeks now, so she must be having luck finding meals - just never when i am around w/ my camera..

she's usually buried deep in grasses so it's impossible to get an unobstructed view - this will have to suffice

I believe these are old bitter oysterlings, but not 100% sure. Any suggestions would be most welcome.
