The corner of a tea bag in a tea cup full of boiled water. Since Louise moved to Sydney we don't have any loose leaf tea in the house. Coffee being the preferred drink.

For the new Mocro Monday theme I searched for beetles and bugs in the garden but couldn't find some. I think It's to cold or maybe I searched at the wrong place. Because I didn't find any bug in the garden I decided to search for a beetle made of sheetmetal ;-) I found three different ones.

I wish everyone a Happy Macro Monday and a nice start into the new week :-)

For this week’s Macro Mondays theme of ‘Mysterious’ I have chosen to photograph smoke. This is a subject I’ve attempted in the past with various degrees of success. You are never sure of the outcome, which makes it mysterious in the extreme!

For this shot, I have used 3 Bowens GM500 lights, each to the rear of the smoke. Each light is fitted with a 15° snoot and honeycomb grid, and individually coloured with either a red, green or blue gel. By using the additive colour principle (mixing the different light colours of red, green, and blue) the other colours used in the additive colour system are created. Red + Green = Yellow, Red + Blue = Magenta, Blue + Green = Cyan. Where the three colours mix together, white light is produced.

Macro Mondays 6/02/17 theme Say Cheese!

This wasn't my idea for what I wanted but I needed to grill my cheese first anyway, then I thought I would try to photograph it while it was cooking....NOT the best idea I have had.I needed to get the camera lens close in which at first was ok but as it started to get hot I notice moisture starting to build up on the inside of the lens which made me panic and think I had damaged it.So left it to cool down and set up for the shots I was going to do.Went back to the lens to find it was now clear thank god.So in future I will not take my lens from a cold room and start taking photo's of hot items.Lesson learnt.
