Half Machine 2008, Copenhagen: THE SHAIDON EFFECT (DJ SET / LIVE DRUM SET / LIVE DANCERS) presents THE SPECIAL PLAYER
THE SPECIAL PLAYER is a fully interactive environment. Involving a sophisticated responsive motion tracking technique, professional dancers, DJs and the public, THE SPECIAL PLAYER explores a massively disquieting conspirative narration revolutionizing the concept of augmented reality and sense of self.
HALF MACHINE artists collective work within interactive art installations, dance performance and concert events - complex collaborative art experiments involving the audience.
An international group of artists create large scale light- and water installations, aerial suspensions, pyrotechnics, high voltage labs and more from recycled materials and electronic wizardry.
dear friends!! stepping into daiv whaley's poetry machine (which was once a phone booth), the traveler becomes a collaborator in an ongoing act of poetry.
this amazing installation stands outside the allen theater this weekend during cleveland's 2008 ingenuity festival...
i wish this powerful generator of possibility could remain on cleveland's streets after the festival ends... cities need these poetry machines!!
may all travelers find joy!!
and poetry along the way...

A hand-cranked winnowing machine. The farmer fed the harvested grain into the top, the grain was separated from the chaff and was fed into a bag. It couldn't do the work of a commercial mill, but it would do for a single farm.

I believe there may actually be two Mystery Machines here in Lincoln. This one happened to be parked in College View when I stopped to drop some BookCrossing books at The Mill.

Three machines over my head: The Embraer 195, Embraer 170 and Embraer 145XR. All of them are company's prototypes and were in a demonstration flight.

this is suppose to be a gaming machine which rewards you with whatever you grabbed and dropped to the box successfully. however we found that the claw always drop the thing automatically when it draws back - IT'S CHEATING OUR MONEY!!!
I was a little too young for this movie when it came out but pretty soon the movies of my childhood will become slot machines...

This year, we are creating a Time Machine at Pataphysical Studios, with a world-class team of of artists, makers, engineers and multimedia innovators.
This interactive art exhibit invites you to travel through time and meet characters from the past, present and future. We hope to intrigue, enchant and engage visitors in a playful experience that combines interactive art, multimedia theater and technology.
These first designs illustrate the experience we are creating. We will invite our guests to go through a short interactive ritual during their visit: walk around the exhibit, step into a magic portal, pick a time to visit, travel to that time, meet its characters and return back to the present.
This is the most complex art project we have ever created together. We are now working in teams to design and build different parts of the Time Machine, making interactive art with lights, sound and motion powered by Arduino and Raspberry Pi -- as well as producing short videos of the different times you will travel to.
We're all excited about our next collective art project and can’t wait to see what it will look like in a year!

Just for the curious, this is what it looks inside one of those Washington State Ferries (WSF) coffee vending machines. Cool eh?
Otherwise, here is a photo of my 2018-11-29 WSF Anacortes-Sidney Trip. You can see more photos - including the other cell phone photo of inside the machine and higher quality ones of the trip - up at flic.kr/s/aHsmJFLqiE as able.
