Half Machine 2008, Copenhagen: THE SHAIDON EFFECT (DJ SET / LIVE DRUM SET / LIVE DANCERS) presents THE SPECIAL PLAYER
THE SPECIAL PLAYER is a fully interactive environment. Involving a sophisticated responsive motion tracking technique, professional dancers, DJs and the public, THE SPECIAL PLAYER explores a massively disquieting conspirative narration revolutionizing the concept of augmented reality and sense of self.
HALF MACHINE artists collective work within interactive art installations, dance performance and concert events - complex collaborative art experiments involving the audience.
An international group of artists create large scale light- and water installations, aerial suspensions, pyrotechnics, high voltage labs and more from recycled materials and electronic wizardry.
Three machines over my head: The Embraer 195, Embraer 170 and Embraer 145XR. All of them are company's prototypes and were in a demonstration flight.

Ca. 1880. Popular sewing machine manufacturer, this one with Jones' figure of eight base and 'cat back' arm.
i was telling my friend "dogboneart" about this machine of my dad's and thought i would post a pic of it here. i can't find the instruction booklet for the thing, and would love to learn how to use it.
they just don't make machines like this anymore!! it's from the 70s and my dad won it at a home builder's show! why were they giving away sewing machines to men? lol
Jan 2 and 3: I machined and welded up this interesting widget. It's a 1/70 scale model of a humongous teeter totter than a local artist hopes to take to Burning Man. The model will be used for show and tell to apply for a grant. More on the project can be found here: teeterproject.org/
A very funny vending machine with biological eggs.
Perhaps it is illusion, but biological food seems more tasty
Just for the curious, this is what it looks inside one of those Washington State Ferries (WSF) coffee vending machines. Cool eh?
Otherwise, here is a photo of my 2018-11-29 WSF Anacortes-Sidney Trip. You can see more photos - including the other cell phone photo of inside the machine and higher quality ones of the trip - up at flic.kr/s/aHsmJFLqiE as able.

I was going through some old boxes in the basement and was excited to find this. It is a portable (and very manual) adding machine that would have been used before caculators were available/affordable. Based on an Internet search, it appears this is from 1955. I think my great aunt gave it to me when I was a kid to play with.
