Apparently it is easy to forget to take out the transit packaging when you are a washing machine fitter! At least it turns out it was for our particular fitters!

They arrived without any tools at all, said they couldn't fit it properly as the taps were in the wrong place, left the dishwasher unconnected and tried to escape whiloe the machine was leaking water. They left dad to finish the job for them. However it never occurred to us that they would have left this polystyrene nd plastic packing beneath in the workings of the machine until we had to call out a service engineer because the machine stopped working!

I made this quilt from an odd assortment of scraps and stash fabrics. It's based on a quilt in the Japanese book 'Machine Made Patchworks'.

This factory was built in the 1870s for the lace manufacturer Kirkbride. It was built to house Leavers and lace curtain machines and was extended in 1881 and 1884. By 1895 it was occupied by Mosely & Booth, lace curtain makers, and later by the Basford Lace Manufacturing Company. By 1915 it was part of John Jardine's portfolio, probably the most successful lace machine manufacturer in Nottingham, who had works in, amongst other places, Basford and Radford.

The case has a handle on it to make you think it's somehow portable. This is the biggest lie ever if for no reason other than getting it back in the case is a total headache.

The generators in the machine hall. They've been upgraded from 100MW to 135MW including fitting more efficient turbines. The red display board half way down the right hand wall indicates the system is was producing 525.9MW when the picture was taken. The heat from the generators kept the viewing platform at about 30C.

This machine is located at the Scottish Rite Hospial in Dallas, TX. The machine is used to carve a mold of a child's body, or limb for a custom brace or prosthetic to be made. They use a 3D lazer scanner o get the computer to carve the block of foam to match the child's body. The machine was purchased by a generous donation from the Speedway Children's Charities. We wrapped this through our non profit organization called www.wrapbuddies.com

This machine is in the chip shop at Beamish Museum. Without thinking, I thought ‘chips’. Looking closely, the housing on the business end is the wrong shape. I think, just a mincer. The interesting part is the internal combustion engine running on town gas.

Does it ever feel like you have too much camera gear but not the right kind? I have been using this Benbo GX35 for a couple of years doing my tabletop photography for my heavier GFX 100S. Crazy design on the Benbo, you cannot do a perfect 90º angle because of a tightening knob???WTF??? Then, despite how robust the Benbo felt it creeped like a creeper! So, I finally had enough and was skerred to go on YouTube but thankfully I found a couple of vids where photographers talked about the Innorel N44 and it is avail on Amazon for $99!! Man, this is very well machined and it had NO PROBLEM with the weight of my MF body and lens. AND, no problem whatsoever doing a simple 90º angle. Can I get an AMEN? 🏆

This soft drink machine sits on the side of the road a little south of where I live. The cans of drink at 75 cents and all the buttons say "Mystery" and vend a random drink to you.

It's fun although I got root beer and do not like it.
