Tracked down the most colorful delicious macaroons we could find. One is already missing...

My first ever attempt at macaroons - they went a bit brown on top but otherwise I was really pleased with them!

I've also decided to ignore the tyrannical bakers why seem to insist that everything is the same shape, colour and size - I'm taking a stand, people!

(This stand may or may not have been precipitated by realising I lost my piping bag when we moved house...)

Pastel purple Macaroon with icing inside. Made of white Fimo Polymer clay and a few drops of water.

Macaroons again. Macro setting is fun.

These are the filled macaroons. As you can see, I haven't mixed these quite enough (they are not smooth and glossy enough), but I was scared to overmix them. I've made a note of the number of stirs though, so I can attempt to get it right. Cooking time was from The Pink Whisk this time, although I did prop the oven door open slightly, as most recipes seem to concur that this is needed. Anyway, even if the texture is not quite right, they taste scrummy.

La Glace Bakery in Copenhagen, Denmark

The Danish baker was cookin' today. These are his Macaroons with orange zest, and drizzled in dark chocolate. Yum!
