A multitude of heartfelt 💕wishes and hugs on this day, Valentines Day. It is not just for couples or lovers, as love can and should be given and shared freely with all those you love, not just today, but always, in all ways. Flowers from me to you. 💐🌺🌸🌻🌹

Besides the multitude of squirrels and deer that we saw on Skyline Drive (Shenandoah National Park) we saw a flock of turkey hens. And that is something neither of us had ever seen up there before! Such a cool time to take that drive, almost no people (the weather was yucky) and nearly dark. :) Of to one of our favorite places today, Monterey in Highland County where they are having their Maple Festival. Should be fun!

The multitude of colors in this Fraser Valley image surprised me when processing this shot. From the yellow foreground, to the painted hills, and the dark water between. The rail line was busy as ever, and in a few minutes one long line of rail cars fed the hungry tracks.

Been reading some manga while my computer was offline for the most part and I guess this influenced my pic somewhat. Derdieb made a baggy fit tee so there's a load of room to hide a multitude of sins (who knows what you guys get up to). He's in the process of building a new store which should be complete soon so you may want to check it out if you have more darkling intentions in your character. I've included Cubic Cherry's Hades claws for some added Oni spiky - they have materials options so you can rock them plain or detailed.

Down in a canyon in the heart of southern Washington's lava forests, looking up at a section of a mighty, thunderous waterfall at the confluence of two rivers. The creek drops over the edge and fans out over a wide, stepped cliff face that sends the water in uncountable branches and rivulets. I'd wanted to revisit this one for a few years, but every year there is only a short window of time to visit after the snow has melted and before the river flow drops in late summer..

“Sewing is as addictive as a drug, twice as expensive, with no rehab, legal and gets you hooked in an instant” – anonymous.

Well, I don’t know about sewing, but I know that collecting Sylko cotton spools is! What started for me as a collection of about a dozen brightly coloured spools has quickly escalated into a collection of several hundred in a multitude of colours (both bright and pastel), and is still growing! In spite of my best intentions of not letting it get out of hand, the number of spools that arrive on a nearly daily basis at the moment is really rather ridiculous even for me, and my partner despairs, as I pursue some of the rarer coloured spools! However I cannot help myself. I just adore all the wide and varying shades and their wonderful names!

The theme for "Looking Close on Friday" for the 13th of September is "multicoloured collection", and as you may well know, I am a collector of many things. This meant the hardest part of this theme for me was choosing a collection that was brightly coloured enough for this week! I ended up settling upon pieces from my vintage spool collection, choosing an array of brightly coloured cottons including “coral” “gay kingfisher” “yellow” “oriental poppy” and “radiant blue”. I hope you like my choice for the theme this week, and that it makes you smile!

Belle Vue Mill, commonly known as Dewhurst’s, was built by Thomas Dewhurst in 1828. It opened in 1829 as John Dewhurst & Sons and was one of Skipton’s largest spinning and weaving mills. The mill’s position next to the Leeds Liverpool Canal meant that raw cotton could be shipped in by boats from Liverpool. Finished goods would then be sent back the same way ready for distribution. Coal to power the machine’s steam engines was also delivered by barge. In 1897 Dewhurst’s was bought by the English Sewing Cotton Co. It continued to produce Sylko, one of the mill’s most famous products. It was produced in over 500 colours and sold throughout the world. Sylko cottons are still available at haberdashers today.

In 1802 James Coats set up a weaving business in Paisley. In 1826 he opened a cotton mill at Ferguslie to produce his own thread and, when he retired in 1830, his sons, James & Peter, took up the business under the name of J. & P. Coats. In 1952 J. & P. Coats and the Clark Thread Co. merged to become Coats & Clark's. Today, the business is known as the Coats Group.

The Anchor brand can trace its history back to 1866 when the Clark family adopted the Anchor brand for their embroidery threads manufactured in Paisley, Scotland. Embroidery threads came into being circa 1812 when supplies of silk became unobtainable in the UK due to a blockade by Napoleon. Two weavers, James and Patrick Clark, turned their attention to cotton and managed to produce yarn which was sufficiently fine, smooth and strong to be used instead of silk for weaving. Sewing thread was primarily silk or linen at the time and the Clark brothers developed their cotton yarn into the first cotton sewing thread.

The cities in which we live are a huge multitude of other people different from us, with whom we have signed a moral contract and pretend that we know each other at least a little. Actually, we're just trying to be polite. In fact, we are not created to meet hundreds of people like ourselves every day and not go crazy in this emotional sea. Constant communication kills humanity in a person. Take care of nature - it is our only medicine and salvation from wildness.

Having left the Edel Hutte I left the multitude of other hikers take a well worn path and set off for the Popbergschneid. That is the ridge seen in this view. Once the ridge was reached an undulating clamber followed until this point was reach. The scenery was really came into its own around this point. Unfortunately due to the fact that I had taken a different route to all else I wasn’t able to include anyone in the shot and therefore provide some scale. I would soon meet up with the other path and solve that issue.

"If there is one word that makes creative people different from others, it is the word complexity. Instead of being an individual, they are a multitude. Like the color white that includes all colors, they tend to bring together the entire range of human possibilities within themselves. Creativity allows for paradox, light, shadow, inconsistency, even chaos -and creative people experience both extremes with equal intensity."

Sorry I'm not around much, busy time, my Dad's 91st Birthday on Sunday and my husband's 70th on Tuesday, parties to plan and make happen. We have enjoyed some Autumn sunshine today and thought these Lapwings ( a "Deceit" - who knew that), fitted the bill for ODC - Multiple, Multitude. Catch up with you all real soon.

As I approached a colony of seagulls on the beach close to dusk just after the setting sun has dropped down below the horizon they took offense to my intrusion, many of them took to the air and scattered like marbles dropped on the kitchen floor.

Tried making a card a day, but nope, that's too many!

Ha ha, I just zoomed in to see a white cat hair stuck to the left-hand side. That's a nice touch from the local fur machine.

There are many bridges in the city center that span the canals and connect the neighborhoods to each other, but Jarosław Kozakiewicz's BRUG ("bridge") is a contemporary interpretation with a different function. The artist here replaces the bricks and pavers with metal profiles and veils to create a bridge to reach two banks. This does not mean that you can continue your journey. The bridge will take you closer to the Constant Permeke Niobe sculpture, to a point where you can stop briefly before setting out again by borrowing the same path. The installation is a meeting place, a proposal to meet the other, or even - who knows? - start a conversation. The formal structure of construction is based on a proportional system where each intersection of two lines refers to a point on a human face. Every angle, every link is the snapshot of a movement - that of two faces that are getting closer. BRUG is a geometrical metaphor for both a mutual encounter of two human beings and a meeting between the future and the past. Relationships between people and their deep meaning are the starting point for the artistic experience in which Kozakiewicz has been engaged for some years. The project is based on the search for new sculptural and para-architectural forms through the manipulation of a module created by joining the orifices of the human head. Body openings are a metaphor for "the inner life", they represent the entry into the world of personal experience. Borders / passages are both first and last moments of mutual encounters.

I found this one tiny mushroom in a small gully made by two decaying logs.

Comprised of a multitude of limestone islands and islets rising from the sea, in a variety of sizes and shapes and presenting picturesque, unspoiled nature, Ha Long Bay is a spectacular seascape sculpted by nature. The property retains a high level of naturalness, and despite its long history of human use, is not seriously degraded. Outstanding features of the property include the magnificent towering limestone pillars and associated notches, arches and caves, which are exceptionally well-developed and among the best presented of their type in the world.

Toronto, Ontario - Août 2013.

I did some exploration yesterday at a multitude of sites in the Snoqualmie Valley and middle fork of the Snoqualmie River. I was surprised by a few things: the incredible amount of water everywhere and the passing of the leaves in the upper part of the valley (they are essentially gone). Autumn is definitely on its way out, but winter has yet to make its appearance. Small streams along the middle fork trail were to my judgment impassable because they turned into rivers and the middle fork itself was as high as I have ever seen it, and Snoqualmie Falls a raging torrent barely visible through the scattered mist. I closed my day at this reflecting pond in the Snoqualmie Valley where some gorgeous light made its way through the clouds illuminating the remnants of the Autumn Leaves.

This incredible milkweed was growing in the narrow floodplain of a small creek in the Canadian River drainage. This species is widespread in the Great Plains and western United States, but is known in Texas from only a few sites in the northern Panhandle. These flowers were especially fragrant and were nourishing a multitude of pollinators.

Travel inland to visit Europe’s unique fishing village, Carrasqueira, which lies on the left bank of the Sado River. Here you will find a multitude of wooden jetties on stilts (known as cais palafitico) zigzagging along the muddy marshes. Fishing huts, some naturally weathered, others individually painted, stand atop the wharf.

Known for its captivating blue flowers, borage is a popular annual herb that brings a delightful charm to many gardens. The borage plant grew its first roots in the Mediterranean area but has since made its way into gardens worldwide, catching the eyes and hearts of many master gardeners.

Sporting a unique rough texture on its leaves that gave it its scientific name, borage stands out for more than just its appearance. Its history includes being considered a source of courage in Celtic tradition and believed by some as the "Nepenthe," a zestful plant featured in Homer's Odyssey that was said to whisk away sorrow.

The real magic blooms when its flowers do - these petals aren't just pretty but edible as well! Quirky and versatile, borage flowers can be used in a multitude of ways ranging from adding a pop of colour to salads and cocktails, to lending their essence to cosmetics and textile dyes. The plant is a hit not only among humans but also bees, making it a perfect accessory plant for any bee-friendly garden.

The experiential joy of having a borage plant doesn’t stop there. Apart from brightening up spaces and palettes, borage carries aromatic foliage, reminiscing a delightful cucumber smell that adds another layer to the sensory pleasure this plant offers.
