Light, clouds, water, wind and waves - an early spring storm brings us to mind the power and force of our mother nature...

Zebras are my favourite African animal and I am alway happy to see them, especially when they have a baby with them.
Taken in Motswari Private Game Reserve. Motswari has an open border with Kruger National Park.
I have been very busy this past month, but I did find the time to photograph my favorite deer herd. On this day, I was privileged to photograph this mama with her three triplets. It has not been easy getting all of them together, but I finally did!
Had a lovely day in the Peak District, the heather was in full bloom and looked beautiful.

Everybody, listen to me
And return me my ship
I'm your Captain
Though I'm feeling mighty sick
I've been lost now, days uncounted
And it's months since I've seen home
Can you hear me
Or am I all alone
If you return me to my home
I will kiss you, Mother Earth
Take me back now
To the port of my birth
Am I in my cabin dreaming
Or are you really scheming
To take my ship away from me?
You'd better think about it
I just can't live without it
Don't take my ship from me
I can feel the hand of a stranger
And it's tightening around my throat
Help me
Take this stranger from my boat
I'm your Captain
Though I'm feeling mighty sick
Listen to me
And return me my ship

The American black bear (Ursus americanus, is a medium-sized bear native to North America. It is the continent's smallest and most widely distributed bear species. American black bears are omnivores, with their diets varying greatly depending on season and location.
not sure what they are. The nearest what I think could be eiter a Kudu or a Nyala female with calf. What irritates me is the pale face of the adult. By parks official info it is most probably a Kudu. If she is a kudu female she must phobably quite old to be that pale faced .. Maybe someone had similar encounters and knows more ,,,

It's so nice to have someone who just "gets you". My mom is that person for me.
Another holiday, another "nothing fancy" place to eat. But that's what mom likes, so that's good enough for me. And when I ask "Could you sit on that cheeseburger in front of American Gothic?", she doesn't question. It's not that she is humoring me or anything, I think it actually makes sense to her too.
I never wonder where I got my sense of humor from. It's pretty obvious.
Mother, you're always around
Let me tell you you're the only one
Mother, when I see that look in your eyes
I know that you're my only child
And you make my world go round....

Taken at the International Steampunk Symposium held at the Ramada Plaza in the Sharonville suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. This pretty young woman came all the way South from Wisconsin for the event. She invited us to some events up her way, but, while I'd like to go, it is considerably further than we will probably be willing to drive.
Every year in Isola Dovarese (Italy) there is a medieval reinactment. Townspeople wear authentic clothes and with the city enlightened with candles create special medieval atmosphere. Different locations offer medieval style food and drinks.

I reckon this was taken in 1946 just after WW II. Mother is on the left with it seems 2 work colleagues. She would have been 18 years old. This is more than likely taken outside a factory in the town of Hengelo in Holland. No I didn't take this shot 😬
This Sunday, November 27, an international holiday was celebrated – Mother's Day.😊 But who is this woman in our life? 🤔
⠀
I will tell my story. My mom is a wonderful person, loved by me from the very first seconds of my life. All mothers partially transmit certain traits of their character to their children.
⠀
My mom has been working as a teacher for a very long time and it affected me. She is a real example of diligence, determination and kindness. It was she who instilled these qualities in me, as her son.
⠀
What is your mother like? What did she teach you and what was the main lesson you learned?
⠀
Share comments and your stories about your mothers!❤️ It's definitely worth reading them all on this day:) 😉

On my way to Mother Shipton cave and I saw this. Later after taking photos in the cave my camera developed a fault !!!
Ursula Southill was born in Knaresborough, England but better known as Mother Shipton, is said to have been an English soothsayer and prophetess. The first publication of her prophecies, which did not appear until 1641, eighty years after her reported death, contained a number of mainly regional predictions, but only two prophetic verses – neither of which foretold the End of the World, despite widespread assumptions to that effect.
One of the most notable editions of her prophecies was published in 1684. It states that she was born in Knaresborough, Yorkshire, in a cave now known as Mother Shipton's Cave which is adjacent to a Petrifying Well.
She was reputed to be hideously ugly. The book also claims that she married Toby Shipton, a local carpenter, near York in 1512 and told fortunes and made predictions throughout her life. (wiki)

The last picture of my mother , shortly before she left us. Rest in peace Mum.
This is U.S. Route 66 as it passes through Amboy, California in the middle of the Mojave Desert of Southern California. This is
looking due east at an approaching sand storm which I quickly
drove away from after this shot.
This original segment of Route 66, which ran from Chicago to Los Angeles, is the longest surviving continuous stretch of the Mother Road, which was finished on the 11th of November, 1926. It stretched 2,448 miles from Lake Michigan to the Pacific Ocean. The original stretch you see here goes 74 miles between Fenner, Calif. and Ludlow, Calif. and parallels the railroad tracks that carried the famous Santa Fe Superchiefs from Chicago to Los Angeles in the mid-20th Century. I rode them twice in the 1960's and remember passing the cars on Route 66 at a good clip.
