I had been looking out for some moss that I could take a macro shot of and a kind bird has just dropped some off the roof for me. For 125 pictures in 2025

12/100x: the 2025 Edition

Western Oregon is very rainy and pretty much everything has moss growing on it. I saw these rocks while hiking on the Ponytail and Horsetail Trail in Cascade Locks.

After about a month of building, I’m pleased to share my first depiction of Hollow Knight Silksong. It is also my first attempt at an immersive scene.

It should be noted that this is more of an inspired build, rather than an exact replica of the source material. I deviated from the in-game cage design slightly, adding wheel 56145, and while I didn’t have all the gold parts required, I honestly couldn’t be happier with my adaptation. It’s a complete model rather than just a front facade, built using a snowflake element at the core.

Thanks for reading & checking out the build!

At the Middle Fork Snoqualmie trailhead. It felt wrong to walk any further onto the carpet of soft green mossl

HMBT!!

Thanks, as always, for stopping by and for all of your kind comments, awards and faves -- I appreciate them all!

The chickadees use this soft moss to make their nests inside a tree cavity or birdhouse. I caught her resting on a branch in between gathering the moss from the ground and flying off to place it in her nest. This little lady and her babies are going to have a very cozy nest. I have some pictures of the nests that I'll try to find someday. They are really very beautiful, and look so soft and cozy:)

The flowers bloom on the moss on the rock.

I think it is a common peat moss, but maybe it is a lichen - NJ actually has a moss-lichen

Mosses hang from trees in the Hoh rain forest. The undergrowth is so dense that trees often grow up in rows on fallen trees known as nurse logs, as can be seen in this photo;

He who steps on stones is glad to feel the smallest spray of moss beneath his feet.

MOSS ROSE.

Moss Rose is a fishing boat that has plied its trade in the Atlantic Ocean for over two decades.

Her home port is Deal and during the winter season she along with many other fishing vessels are dragged ashore to get them out of the water.

Once ashore it enables the owner/skippers to undertake much needed maintenance on the vessels in readiness for when they head back to sea again to undertake their livelihood of fishing.

Of course I fell in love. :)

I love moss! This was photographed at the Gaudenier Scenic area or better known to us as the Fairy Forest. In one small area, no more than 2 foot square we counted 3 different kinds of moss and in amongst it are all sorts of tiny things. Seeds etc. If you go off the pathway and walk on it, you can sink in about 4-5 inches because it's so cushiony. However, you have to exercise extreme caution as it does cover up Everything so there might be branches and such underneath that you can't even see. A small, tiny slice of the goodness of God's Creation! Have a wonderful day everyone! :D
