Black Oystercatchers are not an everyday sight for me, so when this one flew up (during a fruitless search for a Long-Tailed Duck) it made the trip worthwhile. Only after downloading the image did I notice the small flaw in the bird's yellow iris.

I love these guys, I especially love those iridescent scales and the way the light reflects off them. This was about 3mm long, but they can get up to 4.5mm in length, they are a widespread and common species in the UK.
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend :0)

The first of two blue 4-door Minors seen in use on the same mid-December day (and a light blue example seen on a driveway elsewhere). These follow a smart Traveller seen out and about a day or two beforehand - difficult to think of anything from now that will still be in use in 55-60 years.....

We are all alike, but extremely different at the same time. It feels like everyone of us was born on another planet. So hard it might be sometimes to understand each other. Nevertheless, we try to do it as we live on the same planet named the Earth.
I feel like we all have 'a minor planet' of our own. It represents our view, experience, beliefs, prejudices and what not. What is important here is to be true to your planet.
