The standing stone is 1.96m high. The stone stands in the midst of a large complex of stone field walls and stone enclosures some of which are buried under or sticking up out of the bog. It is not possible to say to what extent these are associated with, or are of similar date to, one another. A modern field boundary divides the area and is built of stone similar to those buried in the bog. It is likely that this was, at least in part, constructed by robbing the earlier structures. (b) S of the modern wall is a series of walls and enclosures all definitely associated. Some are buried up to 1m in the bog and have been revealed by probing. Other sections of this series are visible in turf cuttings and at the edges of the bog, where it is less deep and peters out. The series consists of a number of small 'fields' and two small oval cairns, 6m × 4m and 8m × 3m. A larger semicircle of stones to the N fades out on the S side of the modern field wall. It is now c. 32m in diameter. (c) To the N of the modern field boundary is a second series of walls and enclosures. These are distributed about the standing stone (a) above. W of this standing stone are three other stones standing in a roughly N-S line. To the S of these is a large circular stone enclosure c. 35m in diameter. A stone wall divides this enclosure N-S into an eastern 2/3 and a western 1/3. The wall stops c. 6m from the S side of the enclosure. On the N side, between the enclosure wall and the dividing wall, is a small sub-circular enclosure. There is a second small enclosure just outside the main large enclosure. There are a number of stretches of field walls to the N, W and E, and four small enclosures associated with these. The turf has been removed in this area and it is not possible to say with certainty that these features predated its growth. (d) Further N on the same hill are a number of other field walls with an associated rectangular foundation. These are situated in rough boggy terrain but it is not possible to say whether or not they predate the bog, which has been largely cut away in this area.

The above description was derived from the 'Archaeological Survey of County Donegal.

The weather here in Wales has been worse than winter for the past month, with gusts of winds zipping around and rain lashing down. Finally, fingers crossed, the sun seems to be remembering our small corner of the country. Tentatively the rays are coming back, slowly but nonetheless visibly.

The Cessna O-2A origined in the midst of the Vietnam conflict, when the American forced needed a reliable and rugged platform for Forward Air Control - finding and marking targets for the high- and fastflying bombers. The OV-10 Bronco was selected for this mission, but its manufacturer could not cope with the demand. Between 1967 and 1970 Cessna produced over five hunderd O-2's.

Our aircraft (registered N590D) was built in 1967 as the 6th O-2A to come off the line, and served for three years in Vietnam. After that she was flown back to the US, where she served until well into the 80's. She was when sold into civil hands. In the early 2000's the worn down airframe was fullye restored to its original military state in Camarillo, California.

N590D came to the Netherlands by initiative of Jeff Bakker and Erik Brouwer. An interview with both men lead to reactions from the Dutch aviation community, and finally to one Dutch party purchasing the O-2A. Chairman Jeff Bakker participated in the ferry flight across the Atlantic.

Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve

my life; you stretch out you hand against the

wrath of my enemies, and your right hand delivers me.

The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me; your

steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever. Do not

forsake the work of your hands.

Psalms 138:7-8 (ESV)

I'd like to say a big THANK YOU!! to all

who asked if all was ok.. :)

I've had a bit of troubles lately.... I was ill

for about 2 months with some stomach

issues, but came out of that just fine...

Then about 3-4 weeks ago I started getting

MASSIVE headaches... The doctors

informed me that it could be a couple of things,

according to the symptoms..

one of which was a brain tumor.. Thank

the Lord that the CT scan came back and

said it wasn't... Now they say I have a problem

with the nerve on the right temporal side of my

brain.. so I am taking some meds that they say

will fix this, if they are correct... I do not want sympathy...

please... God has His purpose for everything and I

have simply been praying that His will, will be done in my life..

Just had to jump on here at say thank you for asking!!! Really

means a lot and is truly a big help.. Hope to see you all

again soon. I hope you all have a blessed Lord's day and

a great day next week.

I'm in the midst of doing a 365 doll project. I don't actually have 365 dolls but the basic intention is to photograph a different doll each day, in addition to a different doll's photo every day I will also post up some pertinent details about them.

_+_+_+_Forgot to upload this yesterday ^^;

We awoke in the midst of a vicious cycle,

Becoming the satellites whose transmissions are static served.

As of late, it seems my audience has been lacking.

I can only pray that you're tuning in during a moment of clarity,

Just to hear me utter these spiteful words before the signal fades.

Here's hoping this becomes the soundtrack to your misery,

The hook that rips right through your chest.

Enjoy this constant reminder of your fickle nature,

And the hideous facade you wear so well.

The crowd gasps in awe as my head began to swell,

And the whites of my eyes slowly turned, slowly turned to red.

Just then did gravity created such a dramatic end.

I can only pray that you're tuning in during a moment of clarity,

Just to hear me utter these spiteful words before the signal fades.

Here's hoping this becomes the soundtrack to your misery,

The hook that rips right through your chest.

Enjoy this constant reminder, my double standards,

And the hideous facade I wear so well.

The twilight, projects this message,

To a populous who's turned their backs.

The twilight, screen my words across the sky,

Look up in wonder.

Here's hoping this becomes the soundtrack to your misery,

The hook that rips right through your chest.

Enjoy this constant reminder of your fickle nature,

And the hideous facade you wear so well.

Enjoy this constant reminder, fade as we burn.

Enjoy this constant reminder, fade as we burn.

Enjoy this constant reminder, and the hideous facade you wear so well.

Built in 1919–1947, this large Spanish Colonial Revival and Mediterranean Revival-style mansion, known as Hearst Castle, or La Cuesta Encantada, was designed by Julia Morgan for William Randolph Hearst, a significant publisher. The mansion and its surrounding gardens and terraces sit atop a hill in the midst of the Hearst Ranch, which was purchased by George Hearst, the father of William Randolph Hearst, in 1865, with the Hearst family often camping atop the hill where the mansion stands today during William’s childhood. Upon the death of Phoebe Hearst, the mother of William Randolph Hearst, in 1919, the ranch was inherited by William, and he began the process of designing and building the mansion in conjunction with Julia Morgan, an architect based in San Francisco, who was the first woman to attend the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, in 1898.

The house’s construction began with the construction of a water reservoir and aqueduct, which collected and carried water from a hilltop on the ranch to the mansion site, and work on the mansion commenced, with the first phase of the project being completed in December of 1925, allowing the Hearst family to take up residence at the mansion. During the subsequent decade, the mansion continued to evolve and grow into the complex that can be seen today, coming to a halt with the financial difficulties encountered by Hearst in the late 1930s. Hearst resided at the castle until World War II began in the Pacific, returning to the mansion in 1945 for one last phase of construction, which ended in 1947. The mansion, by this point, had grown into a multi-building complex, with three guest houses, Casa del Mar, Casa del Monte, and Casa del Sol, a large main house, Casa Grande, which was modeled on a gateway in Seville and the Santa Maria la Mayor Church in Ronda, Spain, and a bunker-like building with tennis courts on the roof, which houses the heavily ornamented Roman Pool. Around the houses are terraces and gardens, with the largest terrace surrounding the outdoor Neptune Pool, which is flanked by semi-circular colonnades. Service buildings surround the mansion on three sides, which sit lower than the house, allowing for unobstructed views from the house and its surrounding gardens and terraces.

The mansion’s three guest houses were meant to resemble the houses of a Spanish rural village, with the main house resembling a large church at the center of a village. The houses vary in size, with red hipped spanish tile roofs, stucco-clad exteriors, bracketed eaves, colorful tiles, rear loggias with views of the surrounding landscape, and decorative stone trim. The main house features towers modeled on the Santa Maria la Mayor Church, flanking a central facade based on a gate in Seville, Spain, with a large, nave-like front wing that branches into two smaller L-shaped wings to the rear, flanking a courtyard. The main house is clad in stucco with a red spanish tile roof, colorful tiles, stone trim, and various elements based on Renaissance and Medieval European architecture. The house hosted many of the nation’s rich and famous during its ownership by Hearst, including US President Calvin Coolidge, United Kingdom Prime Minister Winston Churchill, various movie stars, and various writers, intellectuals, and other celebrities. The castle’s grand and sumptuous interiors were enjoyed by these visitors, as well as Hearst himself and his mistress, Marion Davies, including the Assembly Room, home to various tapestries and elements salvaged from buildings in France and Italy, the Refectory, modeled on a grand Renaissance-era Italian Palazzo dining hall, a Library based on grand Renaissance-era Spanish and Italian interiors, a Billiard room with a ceiling sourced from Spain and a fireplace sourced from France, a large Theater with red damask curtains and golden caryatids, and a Morning Room, which features a ceiling sourced from Spain.

The house remained in the Hearst family after the death of William Randolph Hearst in 1951, with his family keeping ownership of the house until it, along with the immediate surroundings, was deeded to the State of California in 1958, after which it began to offer tours to the public and serve as a historical house museum. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1976. Today, the surrounding estate remains in operation under the ownership of the Hearst Corporation, while the mansion and visitor center are owned and operated by the State of California, which provides tours of the mansion and maintains the mansion as a museum, interpreting the life of William Randolph Hearst, the legacy of Julia Morgan, and the historic artifacts and architecture of the mansion.

In the midst of life

We are in death.

In loving memory of

GEORGE BROWN

The beloved son of

MARY ANN PINDER,

Who was drowned at Grimsby,

SEPTEMBER 25th 1902.

AGED 27 YEARS.

Gone from us but not forgotten

Never will his memory fade

Sweetest thoughts will ever linger

Around the tomb where he is laid.

George was born in 1875 in the village of California on the coast of Norfolk.

At 16 years old George was an agricultural labourer living at 80 Yarmouth Road, Caister-on-Sea, Norfolk.

Also living at the address were,

Thorp Pinder, 57, a Prudential assurance agent

Mary Ann Pinder, 50. wife

Eva E, Pinder, 12, a scholar

Charlie Pinder, 14, a scholar

Ann Rodgers, 88, mother-in-law, widowed

James Brown, 21, a fisherman

Walter Brown, 19, a fisherman

Lawrence Brown, 17, a fisherman

I am presuming that Mary Ann was married to a man called Brown and she had four sons before marrying Thorp Pinder and that George's three older fishermen brother took him from agriculture to fishing.

George drowned, at Grimsby on Thursday 25th. September 1902, aged 27. At the time of his death he possibly was a crew member on a boat called Newland. He was buried in the Caister Village Cemetery on 7th. October 1902, the Revd. David Wallace Duthie officiating.

In the midst of my studies I have found time to assist and direct photo shoots in collaboration with several brands. Below are a couple extracts from my portfolio of my styling work. I have styled for DJournal, a non-profit magazine that is a creative outlet for contributing individuals, enabling us to freely express our visions without a large amount of restrictions, as well as commercial campaigns, conducted personal styling events as well as endorsed brands and incorporated product placement through outfit posts on my personal style blog, pintsizedfashionista.com.

There's a fifty percent chance that you'll face rejection when you ask anyone in public to take their picture and when you're in the midst of the gawkers well the warm and fuzzy feeling of rejection is just that much more fuzzy. Lori was waiting for the Metro and I wasn't sure if she would be good with me asking to take her picture so I was a little nervous when I explained what I was doing and asked if I could do so. You know it's the end of the day and you think people have probably had it with strangers but she obliged quite nicely. It then was I who had to quickly get past the nervousness and pay attention to her shine. Finally on this fourth and last shot I finally clicked with her beam.
