I ran across this abandoned truck around 8 miles past the Ulupalakua Ranch-Tedeschi Winery! Not many tourist make it to this wind blown, rought, dry and strangely beautiful side of the island of Maui, Hawaii.

From down-town Lahaina at the Aloha Mixed Plate restaurant, bar, and grill. Incredible food and atmosphere.
A native, Hawaiian tree thrives on the edge of a drop-off into the mist. After I took the shot, I walked towards the tree but then it became unnerving with each step towards the edge!

Hydrangea, commonly named hortensia, is a genus of more than 70 species of flowering plants native to Asia and the Americas. The flowers of many hydrangea act as natural pH indicators. Hydrangea flower color can change based on the pH in soil. Soil with a pH of 5.5 or lower will produce blue flowers, a pH of 6.5 or higher will produce pink hydrangeas, and soil in between 5.5 and 6.5 will have purple hydrangeas. White hydrangeas, however, cannot be color-manipulated by soil pH because they do not produce pigment for color.

I've got about 70 images of Maui that I finally finished editing just a week ago (I visited the island last summer). In honor of that, here's a Maui Postapalooza.
Maui was one of four cats from the same litter that we loved for nearly 16 years. Sadly, on 11/12/20 our little sweetheart passed over Rainbow Bridge, Matty, one of her brothers, had preceded her in June. Manual focus 50mm, 1.8, Olympus Zuiko lens on Canon SL1.

Not really sunset "yet". This photo was taken about an hour before sunset, which I photographed at another beach further south along the southwest coast of Maui.
I've been creating more videos lately, but sadly, they're too large for uploading to Flickr.
I'm deep in the editing phase of creating my latest video.
It's called "Tropical Paradise" and is a mix of video footage and still images taken in Hawai'i over the past three years on my trips there. (I also hope to make it back to Maui and Kaua'i in a few weeks)
The video I finished making before "Tropical Paradise" is "Christmas Tides" which can be viewed on YouTube.

As with "Christmas Tides", I'm using a lot of video footage interspersed with my still photos. I'm doing something a little different, since I upgraded my computer last month, and these RAM crunching programs I use are acting a lot smoother, and creating is less frustrating, and more creative. 😊
For the pans across my photos, I'm looking for ways to "expand" the image. I can crop and move horizontally, or "into" the photo to make shots look like they're moving, but the aspect ratio of Tropical Paradise is a bit wider than my photos.
This particular photo has never been processed before, and is a view more to the right of another photo I have processed and posted in the past, showing the area to the left. I'm going to merge them into a "panorama" so the camera will be able to pan across a wider expanse. Since I'm working with it, I thought I'd post it on my social media feeds.
Maui was a lovely little cat with a gentle disposition, we miss her very much. 105 mm, f/4 micro Nikkor manual focus lens.
I saw these hibiscus growing beside the Hilo Hattie parking lot in Lahaina on the Hawaiian island of Maui.
