...how hurt you are, no matter what you've been through,
you have to keep your head up and look ahead.
When you travel in a new area and find a bird you have never seen, you don't know when there will be another chance to see it again and/or if the next time the distance between the bird and yourself will even be greater. So I always photograph it, no matter how far it is. Also, when I do bird photography, I almost always have a small pair of 8X10 binoculars around my neck to be able to scan the environment.... it is even a better deal when my husband accompanies me, as he has the eyes of a falcon when it comes to spotting wildlife. The lark sparrow is not that rare a bird in Saskatchewan but it was a lifer for me. I later had a chance to see and photograph it from a bit closer, but this photo remains one of my favorites and it is perfect for "Happy Fence Friday" HFF. Have a great weekend everybody.

This photo was taken with a 400mm lens on our way down from Mount Washburn at sunset.
I can't remember in which direction I pointed my lens, and it doesn't really matter - whereever I looked, the view was spectacular.

In a rare computer simulation it was possible to make visible the dark matter halo (clump) that has been bothering me for years. Lens-wise, I used the 7Artisans manual lens at F5.6; two LED lights. The clump (now made visible) has a lot to answer for when it comes to the stability of my self and the velocity with which it accelerates towards its dissolution.

It was a soft quiet day at Ano Nuevo preserve along the San Mateo County coastline. The sun was hard at work trying to break the fog's stubborn hold on the land. It was tough work, but the wraithlike light was quite beautiful to behold.
