It's that time of the year again and Ms Mallard became the proud mum of seven. Who is the father, isn't exactly clear, as there are at least five possible suitors for one female in our park. Not that it matters much, since mum will have to take care of the kids on her own - and at the same time try to stay clear from the eager boys.

The MARC GP39PH-3Cs were out in full force on the MARC Camden Line the week of February 3rd, 2025 displaying their shiny paint and now-distinct Nathan P5 horns having returned from rebuild in 2023/2024. MARC 72 was reliably on a morning rush every day of the week. However, on Friday, 70 was put into service to bring a (presumably) disabled MARC 30 and consist back to MARC's Riverside Shops on P842. Though recently rebuilt, the MP36s and SC-44s still dominate daily commuter service, making it rare to see a GP39 leading. I was able to capture two of the six on the roster in one week alone. MARC 71 also led a Friday evening rush train, but I was unable to capture that one.
While taking the picture i was thinking of Marc Augé´s ´Non-places´, his study and reflection on spaces of hyper modernity.
The photo displays a passenger tunnel in one of Madrid´s subway stations, one of these typical places which are meant to transport people without animating anything, no action, no thought. The only reference your eye has is the end, there where the destination is.
I put my tripod with cam on one of the belts and took a few long-exposure shots, causing the motion. In photoshop i only worked on the toning and colors. Unfortunately the belt was vibrating, resulting in a little unsharpness of the stairs.

La Fageda d’en Jordà, La Garrotxa, Girona, España.
La Fageda d'en Jordà es un bosque de hayas excepcional porque crece en un terreno llano y se asienta sobre una colada de lava procedente del volcán del Croscat, la cual ofrece un relieve accidentado, con abundantes prominencias muy características, que pueden alcanzar más de 20 m de altura y que reciben el nombre local de tossols. Forma parte del Parque Natural de la Zona Volcánica de la Garrotxa. Se encuentra en la comarca de la Garrotxa, cerca del cuello de Can Batlle y San Miguel de Sacot (iglesia románica del siglo XI) y del plan de Sacot y, por el collado de Bassols, se sitúa en el flanco suroeste del volcán de Santa Margarita. El hayedo está rodeada de buena parte de los veintiún un volcanes que hay en la comarca de la Garrotxa.
La Fageda d'en Jordà is an exceptional beech forest because it grows on flat ground and sits on a lava flow from the Croscat volcano, which offers a rugged relief, with abundant very characteristic prominences, which can reach more than 20 m high and receiving the local name of tossols. It is part of the Natural Park of the Garrotxa Volcanic Zone. It is located in the region of La Garrotxa, near the neck of Can Batlle and San Miguel de Sacot (Romanesque church of the eleventh century) and the plan of Sacot and, by the hill of Bassols, is located on the southwest flank of the Santa volcano Daisy flower. The beech is surrounded by a good part of the twenty one volcanoes that are in the region of La Garrotxa.

La chiesa di San Francesco è tra i monumenti che, insieme al palazzo dei Capitani, allo storico Caffè Meletti ed alle logge, delimitano piazza del Popolo, cuore della città di Ascoli Piceno.
La chiesa nasce per ricordare la visita di san Francesco ad Ascoli Piceno nell'anno 1215 e del santo ne conserva il nome, pur essendo stata dedicata e consacrata, il 24 giugno 1371, a san Giovanni Battista dal vescovo Giovanni Acquaviva.
Il portale laterale della Chiesa di San Francesco ad Ascoli, quello che si apre su Piazza del Popolo, espone un monumento dedicato a un altro importante Papa: Giulio II della Rovere, che liberò la città dalla tirannia dei Guiderocchi.

SIDE PORTAL OF THE CHURCH OF SAN FRANCESCO.
The church of San Francesco is among the monuments that, together with the Palazzo dei Capitani, the historic Caffè Meletti and the loggias, delimit Piazza del Popolo, the heart of the city of Ascoli Piceno.
The church was created to commemorate the visit of St. Francis to Ascoli Piceno in the year 1215 and the saint retains its name, despite having been dedicated and consecrated, on June 24, 1371, to St. John the Baptist by the bishop Giovanni Acquaviva.
The side portal of the Church of San Francesco in Ascoli, the one that opens onto Piazza del Popolo, exhibits a monument dedicated to another important Pope: Giulio II della Rovere, who freed the city from the tyranny of the Guiderocchi.

This striking installation represents a tribute to Jean Paul Riopelle, who was a fervent hockey fan, particularly of the Montreal Canadians. Composed entirely of hockey trading cards, a distant view of the work calls to mind the visual effect of Riopelle’s famous mosaics of the 1950s, also on view in this room. The work was installed on location by the artist as the exhibition was being set up.

The Pont des Arts or Passerelle des Arts is a Parisian bridge over the Seine River for pedestrian use located in the Sixth District. Unites the Institute of France with the Louvre Museum.
It was inscribed as a historical monument in 1975 and in 1999, it was included within the delimitation of the area of Riberas del Seine in Paris, well declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco.

Former Baltimore and Ohio GP40 3710 was rebuilt as GP39H-2 74 by MK to haul Baltimorons around. It was parked at Riverside shops waiting out the weekend on a hot summer day in 1989.
