I finally managed to sneak down the Kukui Trail and found some nice clouds here at Waimea Canyon. Then the sun broke through clouds and cast some cool and interesting light over the landscape. After reviewing this photo, I wished I had taken out the 70-200 to pick the landscape apart piece by piece, but alas, Live and learn. :)

Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my photos and as always, your views, comments, faves, and support are greatly appreciated!! Have a great day :)

If you have any questions about this photo or about photography in general, I will do my best to help, just post a comment or send me a Flickr mail and I will respond as quickly as possible.

The sun managed to peek through the mostly cloudy sky just long enough to light up these iconic sea stacks at Bandon, Oregon.

Thanks for looking. :) Enjoy your weekend dear friends!

I managed to get to Mote Park lake just in time to catch a few minutes of this early winter sunset - my first of this season. It was a very cold afternoon and the lake was frozen over as can be seen looking at the foreground.

Managed to get nice and close with the 2x on! Slightly cropped to straighten the image. Abberton reservoir.

(Somateria spectabilis) My main target species of bird was the King Eider. I managed to get a great view of this stunning bird (and its mate) off the end of the pier next to where the ship was docked in Longyearbyen.

in my local beech wood. The sun was just breaking through the fog. I blended three exposures in post to manage the high contrasts.

This part of the Pucks Glen path takes the walker towards a rocky outcrop that contains what looks like a face ... can you see it?.

During the lock down we managed to sneak in a little fun to visit one of my favorite places in Colorado - the Pawnee Buttes...we appropriately socially distanced of course.

I managed to visit Kangaroo Island during my trip to Adelaide for the opening of the ANZANG exhibition at the SA Museum which includes my "Stormlight & Stardust" image. This is from a bay on the island being belted by storms over the Southern Ocean. Next stop from the edge here is Antarctica! It's been a long while since I've been able to shoot any seascapes, a conscious effort to expand the portfolio in other areas.

Canon 1DsMkIII, 16-35mm 2.8L, GND filter, single exposure.

MOUNTAIN SNAIL 😇. Nature always manages to amaze me, even in its humblest and most daily manifestations. Surroundings of Portacomaro, Piedmont, ITALY.

Finally Managed to upload this pic!!

It is always the most fun to take pictures with You... Thank you my Friend for being You ..... Love you!!

On how I managed to diffuse a potentially explosive situation.

I was sat on a bench approximately 50 metres across from this family and noticed their reflections in the puddle. I took about five or six shots and noticed with each one the boy with his hands in his pockets became more and more agitated.

He eventually marched over to me and demanded to know why I was taking photographs of his family.

I smiled politely and assured him I wasn't taking photographs of his family, I was taking photographs of the puddle.

He thought for a moment, I could see he was in a mucking fuddle, then he said, Oh, that's alright then and calmly walked away.

As did I before the penny dropped!

Managed to stop the car without the hawk immediately flying away - - a rare occurrence. Sun was pretty bright so a lot more dark shadows than you would like but otherwise a clear shot even after some cropping - - I'm glad my lens is finally sharp again after another round of micro-adjustments.

Red Tailed Hawk ((I believe)) - Minesing Swamp - Ontario

We both managed to get out together today, first time in 2 weeks that Daniel has left the house, which was great, really good to see it lifted his spirits. Hopefully do it more often. We met with a friend and had a coffee at Hardwick park and fed the birds, then went to Fishburn airfield and sat outside plane watching. Had a mini-shoot while we were there. Have a wonderful evening all. ❤️

Managed to finally get a nice shot with my ND filter. Quite liked the result.

Managed to get this shot of the iconic gate when there was almost no one around. It pays to get up early!!!

The super vet is a mythical creature that has always managed to elude photographers for ages. For the ancient pet owners the the super vet was such a sacred being that its name was not uttered in vain. The super vet have been called by many nicknames one is ”Mike”.

After spending a night in a hideout at a secret location with a super long tele 35/2.8 lens payed off. All of a sudden he appeared doing his morning hygiene before going into surgery. I got lucky and got one sharp image of the shy being.

Managed a quick shot of the male Chaffinch that's been visiting our garden over the last couple of days. It only stays at the far back of the garden though. It’s perched on the shallow water trough. Taken through the window.

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.

A recent house move opened up some new opportunities to photograph my home town from different perspectives. Managed to get this capture from Bonhill looking down over Balloch and Loch Lomond.

Rouken Glen, managed to get a few shots today it's quite a hard place to get shots as dogs kids people going in the water like one after the other it's a wonder the birds get a chance to forage so was good to get a short time with these lovely birds.

Managed to get another one of those colds. So not much time to take pictures right now. But I'm heading down to the south coast at the weekend, so hopefully I will be able to get some different shots.

Managed to capture a male Black Redstart today - my previous upload was the female of the species.

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.

The Gepatschferner is the second largest glacier in Austria. After a very nice hike, we stood at the foot of this glacier, which extends to an altitude of around 3,500m. In a short moment, the sun managed to displace the fog a little.

Buzludzha is a communist monument - build in Bulgaria in the 70s and abbandoned in 1989.

Unluckely I couldn't manage to take picture outside to the strange UFO shape of the building due to the tremndous fog and wind

Taken in October 2020 on a K&F Concept workshop. An exceptionally low tide at New Brighton of 0.6m meant we could make the mile or so walk out to the wreck of the SS Denham.

We were blessed with superb conditions with some wonderful cloud cover with breaks in between. As the light faded we turned our attention to the wind farm in Liverpool Bay. Thoroughly enjoyable and I think we all managed to forget about Covid for a few hours.

Managed to dodge the rain somehow!

Managed to get back to the poppy field the weekend and it was full of photographers this time!

Had a touch of lens envy ;-)

Lilac hanging from a garden into a public path by the Cotswold Lakes.

A test of my macro extension tubes (10 and 16) with the XF 35 only for the second time outdoors. Lilac flowers are tiny, and with the wind slightly blowing, it was a real challenge to shoot anything in focus. Fortunately, one of my earliest shots (choosing one not in direct sunlight) managed to capture most of what I loved about this flower.

Taken during a visit to the Cotswold Lakes.

So the new year has begun. Scary, it didn't start very well right here, hope it will get better soon enough. Anyway, pictures must flow! I've got quite a few from this autumn, I couldn't manage any visit lately, pity, the snow was beautiful this weekend. Hopefuly I will get my chance to shoot it once more!

Managed to get these before the blackbirds eat them all

Finally managed last years new years resolution.

FIrst shot taken in black dragon and with the new head and skin i've spent christmas working on.

Here we have another bird that has been eluding me for a while folks, but managed a few of this guy.

Early shoot today and will catch up later.

Thank you for stopping by everyone, and have a great day.

I managed to get this shot of that rarest variety of Dwarf Elephant, the Malachite! You do not see many of them in the wild and as they are only a few inches tall at best, they are liable to be missed except when they emerge from the undergrowth! Their numbers are dwindling particularly as they are often trodden upon and killed being so small.

Malachite is a semi-precious stone. It’s a coloured mineral with attractive bands of darker and lighter green making it sought after for the making jewellery of all sorts and figures. It’s chemical name is Calcium Carbonate Hydroxide.

I thought that I managed in this picture using Poser and doing a lot of morphing to capture a very good likeness of Vampirella. Her expression says so much, She's looking forward to her night out . : )

Managed to sneak off for an hour to Corsham Lake....about a dozen goosander there...

Caught a glimpse of a gentleman with a hat while I was turning round and managed to take a last second snapshot

Managed to get a shot of this Long-tailed Tit with nesting materials before he disappeared into the trees. Taken on a local walk this afternoon.

Many thanks to all who take the time to view, comment or fave my images.

Managed to catch this amazing sunrise this morning in County Durham, UK.

After leaving Burrator on Thursday I head up to Great Staple Tor for sunset. The sky was looking great and there was some nice late afternoon light but in the end, the sun dipped below some low cloud and sunset was a bust.

I did manage to get a few shots while I was up there though so I'll be posting some of those over the week.

Managed to catch a double decker bus drive by.

Finally managed to get out and about and take a few photos to start this 100x project. My son liked this iPhone processed shot better than all the others and yes, for those of you who put up with my 100x last year, it's those bridges again!

Wingardium Leviosa. It was the first spell she learned and, as it turns out, is one of her best spells. At first she could barely lift anything, or everything would backfire. Now? Now she could pull a person up by their clothing or move an object from across the room. Still, this didn’t mean she didn’t have to practice.

“Wingardium Leviosa,” she said quietly to herself and smiled as her books and papers lifted up around her.

Credits . . .

Jasper rarely stays put when I want to photograph him. Usually he sees the camera pointed in his direction and turns his back or pretends to see something to chase and runs off.

Today he didn't seem to mind and I managed to get a few shots.

F.O. Gehry building, Novartis Campus Basel

Managed a trip to the Yorkshire Dales for these Turtle Doves before I disappear for a few days. They kept there distance, so unfortunately they are large crops.

Many thanks as always for your comments and faves.

I managed to have a chat with the local farmer, one evening last week, and asked how long the bales were going to be out in the field. I had 5 days to get the shot I wanted, so every evening I went out and finally Mother Nature provided a fabulous sunset. The farmer had aligned some of the bales quite nicely.

I did manage to drag myself up onto Skyline drive in time to catch a very pleasant sunset. Yes, me and 50 billion other people! LOL I guess the "leaf peepers" aren't ready to admit yet that the leaves have pretty much finished and fallen! But for those few hardy soles who were patient and waited until after the sun set there was a fantastic red glow in the sky and twinkling lights down in the valley. In the end it was just me and a guy in a camper taking shots. :) A beautiful way to close the Sabbath day for sure! Anita and I are off on another adventure today. and there's no telling what we will find! Have a great rest of the weekend everyone!
