600 magnets. Each 20-magnet pentagon has a 30-magnet pentagonal pyramid mounted on it. This is the standard 50-magnet pentagon unit. Magnet poles are aligned along the perimeter of each pentagon. Adjacent pentagons have poles aligned in the same direction at the edges (as evidenced by square instead of triangular patterns at the edges).
This is a flat magnet that has the map of the state of Florida on it. I want to collect magnets like this from all states and countries. In return, I can send magnets like this (or different Florida souvenir magnets), postcards, pressed pennies, kawaii, etc. Contact me if interested! Thanks :)
Not a good start to this years challenge! I've been away from home unexpectedly - without my usual camera. We had to go dashing off down the M1 as my mum in law had fallen and broken her hip. This group of magnets all together on a board are the best I can do this week. :-)
2018 Weekly Alphabet Challenge. Week 1. A is for Altogether.
118 pictures in 2018. #90/118. Red, white and blue.
This photo was taken using natural light from an east facing window without any direct sunlight. I used small magnetic balls shaped into cylinders which I placed at different distances from the camera to try to show the different bokeh effects on my lens. The magnets were placed on a sheet of shiny black acrylic with a matt black fabric backdrop.
This photo was taken directly from the raw image the only processing it has had is a little cropping, noise reduction and a little sharpening, no adjustments were made to the exposure.

Have you tried the magnet challenge? Free jewelry if you are magnetic. A few of us tried the magnetgate magnet challenge @ Union Square Park this past weekend during the Union Square Greenmarket, farmers market. Out of about 20 people who tried the magnetic challenge, (a line of people actually formed waiting to take the magnet challenge), about 15 people were magnetic though 10 people could be debunked as sweat and 3 people were magnetic who could feel and see the pull of the magnet. And the magnet did not fall off easily when shaken around. And some people got free jewelry. #magnetgate

Magnets made for exhibit included in Wine festival in my home town Subotica. This happened at the end of September.
Background motive is inspired by stained glass on Synagogue in Subotica. I also used transfer technique for text.
They were packed nicely with tags and explanation and I won a third place.
I was sooo happy. :)
Made using pins from a childhood toy. The magnets hold the pins on and act as a spine. Spirals, curves, and curves made from lines have always been my favorite shapes and designs.
*Edit- This is my first photo with one hundred+ views!

This is a light armor helmet that was inspired by the classic RPG games of Diablo, Skyrim, Hellgate London, etc... This is the Zen Magnets version.
The base dome of the helm is formed using four of my Tri-Oval subunits with the holes filled in. Horns were created using folded extended hexagons. The nose and rear neck plate protection were fashioned to look like scaled plate armor. The shape of the eye protection and the horns reminded me of a Fennec Fox ... hence, the name. This helm design is actually an extension that grew out of an original Viking helmet concept. The result is a keeper.
Because of the black NeoBalls, I kept the lighter background over a darker one to prevent them from blending in too much.
(@679 = Viking Helmet top section) = (Tri-Oval 1/2 sphere=(3 x 36-ball Oval Subunit)) + (top filler=8-ball ring + 4-ball + 1-ball) + (hole fillers=(4 x (6-ball rings + 1-ball center)) + (4 x (4-ball rings)) + (horn mounts=(2 x (6-hex + 12-hex + 2-ball top +2+2-ball bottom inside reinforcement on two sides) + (Horns=(2 x (4L-Hex=(60-ball) + 4+3+2+1-ball tip folded in half + 4 x 1-ball hole fill back/front))
(@088) = Nose/Eye plate = (52-ball nose plate) + (6-ball + 4-ball ring accents + 2 x 1-ball jewel colored) + (2 x (2 x 6-ball + 6-ball eye plates ) + (3-ball triangle nose to helm bridge)
(@236 ) = Rear scaled plate protection = (5 x (46-ball plates)) + (2-balls added to 2 outer top 4 added helm bridge support) + (4 x 1-ball spacers between plates)
Replaced accents with 2 x red rubies, 1 green emerald, 1 blue sapphire for the jewel effect.
It is sitting on top of a Mag-Lite flashlight ... the handle diameter was perfect.

This is the craft I had my students do for mother's day. EASY! Find a small colored photo from a magazine and cut to fit size of the glass melted marble looking craft item found at craft store or if lucky like me... the dollar store! White glue spread over magazine picture and glued to back of glass will dry clear. I allowed over night to dry. Attach sticky back large round black magnet to back or if unable to locate sticky type, use glue or glue gun and allow to dry completely before using. So much fun, so much variety... and very inexpensive! Learned this from a mom's group I was in at church called MOPS! :)
This is what I do with old pogs: I paste on their other side magnetic sheet pieces and I make magnets :)
I love my magnets
The dual cube shape is made from 279 cube-shaped magnets. The thumb is one of the sort used in Penn and Teller's National Magic Trick, with a few magnets inside to make it stick to the magnet sculpture. My eight year old daughter came up with the thumb idea.

The bag was full after only five days of catching - so I decided to show my Flickr friends what a good job the "Mosquito Magnets" do in the far north. Some folks didn't believe that the mosquito catchers, such as what we have, would work. The proof is in the last two photos I have posted. Now . . . I can't say what other less expensive brands would do - I just know that our brand works like a charm.
