The small collection of magnets I've been making over the last month or so. Unfortunately, I can't find some of the smaller, colored ones that I made.

After a moment's pause, these two magnets flew together.

The Our Daily Challenge group has chosen Magnets as today's topic.

On Tuesday 06-03-08 I had a magnet implanted in my finger. The magnet was coated in medical grade silicone for bio-compatibility and is small enough that it does not negatively effect electronic devices, credit cards or other objects that may be sensitive to magnets.

I am now able to "feel" magnet fields. When my hand is in close proximity to anything that generates a magnetic field (small motors, electric currents, magnets, etc.) I feel a slight tingle or pressure in my finger. If the magnetic field is oscillating it almost feels like a pulse.

I am also able to pick up small ferrous objects, such as paperclips.

We got a new, non-magnet-holding stainless-steel fridge, and although we loved the end of the clutter we also love our magnets. The perfect solution: A framed stainless-look magnet area on the side of the fridge cabinet.

Just another Frig Magnet... Boredom :-)

Growing selection of stable magnetic forms. 31 pieces so far, and uses up just about all of my magnetic spheres.

Each of these pieces is unique. Each of these pieces is stable. They are made from 4 different sizes of metal sphere, most of which are also magnets. The smallest is around a 1/4", the largest is near 6" inches.

All of the magnets are aligned so the same charge faces outward. Inner white sphere is a lacquered hollow iron sphere from CB2 of all places. 10 bucks.

Not sure where I am going to go with this. I am a bit hesitant to start with the detail work because this first bit was so time consuming. All the magnets were placed by hand and I still have some fine-tuning to do.

I put him with all 4 legs on the icebox!

And one morning I found him like this! ^ ;)

My order of 100 magnets (so I can make more of my bottle cap glitter magnets) arrived today. I knew these strong little buggers were small, but I didn't really envision just HOW small. That, in the center of the photo, is 100 magnets. Each one is strong enough to hold a take-out menu to the 'fridge AND support the resin-filled Snapple bottle cap.

And my order from Amazing Magnets also came with a sample tube of 16 various other miniscule magnets that I'm gleefully playing with and puzzling over.

The magnet was created using "transfer technique"

These magnets are silly strong for their size!

I've been asked if this is Mao or an alien. But it's Nelson Mandela. HIV patients in South Africa sometimes sell stuff like this for money. Friend picked it up for me out there.

This is my latest batch of vintage button magnets. I made these from vintage buttons right out of grandma's button jar.
