Would I be able to do a post-apoc DRG weapon?
M2 is about 37,000 light years from earth. For my money it's a bit of a pale sibling to the splashier M15, now higher in the same part of the sky. As I build my skills trying to image very faint and distant galaxies, I'm finding it reassuring to apply them to moderately bright objects like this to generate a relatively finished image.
Tech stuff: Questar 3.5" scope imaged with Starlight Xpress SX-9C; autoguided with SBIG ST-i guider. Best 10 of 20 2 minute exposures stacked with Nebulosity 3.2 and stretched, sharpened and finished in GIMP.
