I gave my smallest Lesser Tenrec (Azizi) the run of my cushion whilst I cleaned him out. He was quite relaxed on there.
North Chinese Leopards are stealthy but extremely fast as you can see here. Blink and you miss her. This is the lovely, but speedy Atara. Today is her 15th birthday!

Macro Mondays - Low Key
Happy Macro Mondays everyone.
The feather and beads just happened to be on my desk, so that's what I went with. I placed them on a piece of bark in a dark brown crate and shone the light from my phone through a slat in the crate. I added some textures, coz I do like to have a mess about :)
The coin was given to me when I was born, by my God Mother. The Owl was my Mum's, she loved her books.

Una moneda que nos hicieron en las fiestas medievales de Ávila. Nos acercamos a uno de los puestos y allí estaban con un recipiente cargado de plomo fundido al fuego de unas ascuas. Puso una pequeña cantidad en un molde redondo de madera. Una vez templado lo paso al agua, y de ahí con un buen martillazo poniendo la pieza en su correspondiente molde nos hizo esta moneda de plomo.
As summer comes to an end, there are quite a few flowers that will hang on until frost......sunflowers are one of those. They make me smile! :-)

The subjects are assorted gum nuts I collected on my walks and 2 small acorn caps.
The biggest nut measured 1 inch in diameter and the smaller nut is still attached to the twig.
Only one light source, an LED torch at 12 o'clock.

I found the old pliers in my toolbox. Rusty and with some traces of use, it forms a nice contrast to the filigree red flowers. The diffused light in my small photo studio, facing north, provided natural lighting.
Die alte Kneifzange habe ich in meinem Werkzeugkasten gefunden. Rostbehaftet und mit einigen Gebrauchsspuren versehen, bildet sie einen schönen Kontrast zu den filigranen roten Blüten. Das diffuse Licht in meinem kleinen Fotostudio, das nach Norden ausgerichtet ist, sorgte für eine natürliche Beleuchtung.

Low Key pour la vedette...
Je suis allé aussi à la rencontre de ce Canard Mandarin, grande vedette de l'heure échappé assurément d'un élevage du coin. Tout de même fort intéressant de pouvoir observer un des plus beaux canards de la planète de la sorte dans la région, et ce, dans un milieu sauvage. J'aurai eu le loisir de l'observer qu'une trentaine de minutes où les occasions de le voir bien placé ont été plutôt rares. Je pourrai toujours me reprendre. Dans les quelques images que j'en aurai tiré il y en avait quelques-unes qui sont sortis de la sorte avec cet effet low key, probablement dû à l'angle des rayons de soleil combiné au fait que j'avais baissé de trois crans ma compensation afin d'éviter de brûler les blancs. Ce n'est pas la plus belle des poses qu'il nous aura offert ce Mandarin et cette image ne permet pas d'apprécier la grande beauté et les merveilleuses couleurs de son plumage mais j'aime bien l'effet obtenu.
