When members of my family bless me with cut flowers, I can hardly contain my excitement. Once I hug them goodbye, I grab my camera and become lost in the simply beauty of each blossom. When I had the opportunity to see the center of this Lily magnified, I was enchanted. The stigma's purplish hue was a lovely counterpoint to the bright rust-orange of the stamens. Flowers...the gift that keeps on giving!

Reserved a room for two at a B&B in beautiful Bayfield, Wisconsin. It ended up being a room for one, but I still cherish the journey and loved my stay in Bayfield.
This photo is a scenic vista that I took on my trip home on westbound Wisconsin Highway 13 between Bayfield and Cornucopia.
WI Highway 13 is a two lane road that roughly follows the South Shore of Lake Superior across Northern Wisconsin. People who are road trippers and have the time take the more scenic Highway 13. People who are in a hurry take U.S. Highway 2.
Red foxes live around the world in many diverse habitats including forests, grasslands, mountains, and deserts. They also adapt well to human environments such as farms, suburban areas, and even large communities. The red fox's resourcefulness has earned it a legendary reputation for intelligence and cunning.
Like a cat's, the fox's thick tail aids its balance, but it has other uses as well. A fox uses its tail (or “brush”) as a warm cover in cold weather and as a signal flag to communicate with other foxes.

Happy Caturday's theme this week is our cat showing love which was interesting for me. Alex, whom Rena adores and shares her bedroom with when he visits, has been very aloof and quiet since he left. He always had her under one arm or she was asleep in his lap and now she was ignoring me.
But yesterday evening she came and got on my lap and wanted to be petted. I caught the moment.

A portrait of my beloved Jasper who left this world six years ago to the day on 11th November 2016.
He wasn't just a handsome boy on the outside but he was, though often aloof, as soft as his fluffiness on the inside too. One of his many nicknames was 'Meester Floffy' which for some unfathomable reason was always said with a terribly stereotypical, yet light-hearted, Mexican-style accent.
He didn't come for cuddles but he did love to be cradled belly-side up or pinned down for a quick cuddle. He was adorably cute and mischievous as a kitten, eating all of my non-toxic precious indoor palm trees. He was incredibly gentle with the quietest squeak of a meow as an adult. He never scratched or bit me once, unlike Archie where it is an everyday occurrence.
You had to bury your head into Jaspers fur just to hear his soft and gentle purr and I miss him every single day.
Jasper... a £20 cattery long-haired moggy that was beautiful, gentle, enormous and long-lived. He was one of a kind.
