Il fiore di loto è un fiore bellissimo che si può ammirare ovunque perché presente in tutto il mondo, ma la sua esistenza non è così facile e piena di bellezza come si potrebbe immaginare.
A differenza di tutti gli altri fiori, infatti, quando il loto inizia a germogliare, si trova sotto l'acqua sporca di laghi o piccoli stagni, circondato da fango e melma e tormentato da pesci e insetti.
Nonostante queste condizioni, il fiore di loto si fa forza e, crescendo, sale verso la superficie dell’acqua. E’ ancora solo un gambo con alcune foglie e un piccolo baccello.
Col tempo lo stelo continua ad allungarsi ed il baccello lentamente emerge dall’acquitrino. E’ allora che il loto comincia ad aprirsi, petalo dopo petalo, nell’aria pulita e nel sole. Il fiore di loto è pronto per appagare gli occhi di tutto il mondo.

In Tampa, there are parking lots for boats. Not sure if these operate the same way during hurricanes since the beams do not seem to have clamps strong enough to keep the boats from flying away.

Solen visade sig idag då vi passade på att åka till Viby och Hercules ängar och dammar. Några storkar och glador såg vi för att inte tala om alla tusentals gäss som flög över oss och vandrade över åkrarna. / The sun were shining today so we took the ability to visit Viby and the meadows and ponds of Hercules. We saw a few storks and a couple of red kite, not mentioning the thousands of all kinds of geeses flying above us and wandering across the fields.

A class 1 local freight on an old school traditional branch line is one of my favorite subjects and this is one of the best so here's another wider take..
Having finished pulling empties at Win-Waste CSXT local L004 out of Framingham has moved up a half mile to Teknor-Apex just south of the Marguerite Ave crossing at about MP QBU 5.2 on CSXT's Fitchburg Secondary, a former New Haven (originally Old Colony Railroad) route. They left their train of 18 empty gons on the branchline main down by the big new trash customer and then gathered up 18 empties from the three track stub ended yard there. Having dropped their empties on the branch main they are now running thru the parking lot to switch out and pull an empty from Teknor before continuing on up to the runaround where they will drop their train then run back light to spot up the empties they left down by Win-Waste.

Just one of many displays under renovation and their all FREE! Shallow DOF, had to shoot at wider aperture to keep shutter speed up since handheld.
Sorry for so many photos, just saving some from a recent visit to the model trains renovation at Union Station. Still in progress, lots of dust etc. on the displays. Didn't get any descent train photos, only a few running.

From my neighborhood walk the other day. This is the back of someone's lot who lost there home in the fire. Unfortunately, they don't seem to be rebuilding (at the same time as most others). Maybe later. Nature however, keeps moving on.

A closeup on the Bay State Brewery building, located in South Boston, MA. Originally the Jones/Cook Brewery founded in 1875, it was renamed to Bay State Brewery in 1905. Today it houses artists, artisans, and small businesses.
The Tanah Lot temple was built and has been a part of Balinese mythology for centuries. The temple is one of seven sea temples around the Balinese coast. Each of the sea temples were established within eyesight of the next to form a chain along the south-western coast. However, the temple had significant Hindu influence.

LOT's newest Dreamliner is c/n 35.942 - delivered 04/2014 - and is named "Franek"
I won an auction lot several week ago of expired films. This was a photographer's stash and was stated by the auction house to be "well stored". A photographer should know how to store film, but who really knows what "well stored" means. I risked it and got the lot at a good price. Not as good as my $2 box, but a good price for 60 + rolls. When I got them in the mail today they were sent in freezer bags. Not a guarantee, but a very good sign that they actually were stored well.

All images had to be in Jpeg, No Post Processing except what the camera allows, just one image per category, we had to return to our groups meeting place, the Great Wakering Royal British Legion Club by 3.00 pm.
The images were downloaded to our club laptop and were stored for judging by two independent judges, the results will be declared at our Photography Group meeting Thursday 11th April 2024.
I would like to express my thanks to Dave Denby one of our Photography Group Admin for all his hard work time and effort in running this fabulous set of challenges.
