On a recent trip to Germany, I spent a lot of time hiking/walking in the and around the towns we were visiting. This day we were with friends at Mehling Heide near Kaiserslautern.
Alles im Lot war im Sommer 2015 noch für den BB 7200er-Bestand des Dépôts Toulouse. Neben Leistungen vor den Intercités über die Transversale pyrénéenne in Richtung Bayonne gab es vor allem einen sechzehntägigen (!) TER-Laufplan, der die Loks mit klassischen Corail-Garnituren durch den ganzen Südwesten Frankreichs führte. Allein die exemplarische Nennung der Wendebahnhöfe Hendaye und Avignon, Portbou und Angoulême lässt erahnen, wie weit der damalige Aktionsradius war. Auch auf der POLT (= Akronym für Paris - Orléans - Limoges - Toulouse) standen unter der Woche zwei Zugpaare zwischen Brive-la-Gaillarde und Toulouse auf der Agenda, ausgerichtet auf Berufspendler in die Garonne-Metropole.
"Alles im Lot" (höhö, Achtung Wortwitz...! ;)) war am 8. September 2015 auch für den zweiten jener morgendlichen HVZ-Züge bzw. vielmehr für dessen Spiegelung. Kurz nach der Ausfahrt aus dem Bahnhof von Cahors spiegelt sich die BB 7289 mit TER 871641 (Brive-la-Gaillarde - Toulouse) nämlich im gleichnamigen Fluss. Der aus dem Massif Central kommende, bis zu seiner Mündung in die Garonne etwa 485 Kilometer lange Lot umfließt hier die Präfektur mit ihrer malerischen Altstadt in einer weit geschwungenen Schleife.
Architektonisch sehenswert ist dabei die aus der Anfangszeit der POLT stammende Eisenbahnbrücke. Sie wurde 1880 - 83 im Auftrag der Compagnie du chemin de fer de Paris à Orléans (PO) von Fives-Lille errichtet und besticht durch ihre fünf elegant geschwungenen Metallbögen mit jeweils 36 Metern Spannweite.

Rocamadour est un petit village en bord de falaise, au sud du centre de la France. Il est connu pour sa Cité religieuse, un complexe d'édifices religieux accessible par le Grand escalier. Parmi ces bâtiments se trouvent la chapelle Notre-Dame, avec sa statue de la Vierge noire, et la basilique Saint-Sauveur, d'architecture romane-gothique. La forêt des singes, un parc où les macaques vivent en liberté, se situe au nord-est. Le parc ornithologique du Rocher des aigles se trouve à l'ouest.
Tanah Lot is a rock formation off the Indonesian island of Bali. It is home of a pilgrimage temple, the Pura Tanah Lot (literally "Tanah Lot temple") and a popular tourist and cultural icon for photography and general exoticism.
The area leading to Tanah Lot is highly commercialized and people are required to pay to enter the area. To reach the temple, visitors must walk through a carefully planned set of Balinese market-format souvenir shops which cover each side of the path down to the sea. On the mainland cliff tops, restaurants have also been provided for tourists.
