Final shot of the day sees Freightliner's re-geared 66610 with the 6V18 Allington to Whatley empties. Had 7C58 been allowed to run I would have waited for it but it was looped again at Woodborough

Too many days like this:

Troppi giorni come questi: sveglia> lavorare> consumare> dormire
Explored thanks to all!!!!! ^__^
A quick little afternoon stroll along the Spray River Loop. Historic Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel is seen nestling in the background.
Good day at the Mach Loop. Not much in the way of aircraft but the weather was glorious! These were taken on Cad East but next time I'll be on Cad West even tho the light is more challenging.
I was alot happier with this photo when I took it than I am now. There is no great way to photograph a train winding around the entire Tehachapi Loop. And even here damn near the shortest day of the year there is about a 1 hour window of nice, pure light between when the light is on the entire loop and when the light washes out in mid-day color. Luckily at the beginning of the window an eastbound could be heard from my perch. GE's can be a half mile away from you on the PRR over the hill before they are heard but even with the sound of the highway these bitches could be heard about 20 minutes out. There is absolutely no train photo that does this area justice. It's really amazing to think they move freight trains through here. You gotta see this.
Although AR2673 has rotated out of view it is still very active. This loop prominence is the latest activity. I managed to capture its dying throws first thing on the morning of the 11th Sept through thin cloud. An hour later it had all but vanished! Lunt LS152, PGR Flea3, with a TeleVue 2.5x Powermate.

My Loop March Spontaneous Skinning Batt spun up in a skein. These photographs don't show off the rich, royal nature of the skein. It's gorgeous! 180 yards! I'm still debating what to do with it, but I might pair it with some commercially spun yarn in purple and yellow to make a triangular shawl.

At 2100hrs on Monday 22 May 2023, DB Cargo loco no. 66165 exits the down loop at Yatton in North Somerset with 6V71, the Cliffe Vale (1507hrs) to Exeter Riverside china clay hoppers. This train had been held to allow the passing of a Cross Country Trains working from Edinburgh to Plymouth. The rear lights of this Voyager DMU can be seen further down the line.

A narrowboat passes under the Oozells Street Loop Footbridge into the Birmingham Canal Old Line at Birmingham, England.
This is it all spun up! I don't remember the yardage anymore... around 200 yards? Something like that.
I spun each batt separately. For each batt, I spun the dark underlayer first, then the lighter top layer. I then plyed the two together, so half is pink/green, less than half is mostly chocolate, and then there's a small transition period.
The upper one of a pair of new, solar active regions that just rotated into view of SDO offered a beautiful profile view of cascading loops spiraling above it (Jan. 15-16, 2012) following a solar flare eruption. These loop structures are made of superheated plasma, just one of which is the size of several Earths. With its ability to capture the Sun in amazing detail, SDO observed it all in extreme ultraviolet light.

Taken Nelstrop Road North bridge where track lifting has reached as we look towards Fairfield/Gorton on the Fallowfield Loop Line, which was opened in 1892 and ran round the south side of Manchester, linking Sheffield Victoria with Manchester Central.
The last train on the Fallowfield Loop Line was behind 47443 on a Freightliner from Trafford Park in October 1988, the Fallowfield Loop Line is now a cycle path.
