One of the dominant players in the field of communications is the Shaw company. In this image we have the Shaw building purveying the landscape while a local area hotel pays homage.

Looks a much better year for marbled white butterflies at Brockadale NR. Plenty around and this one spent a while sat on this milk thistle. had fears the population would crash after a couple of years on unfavourable spring conditions and low numbers.

Yes a little winter , these early snow puts an end at the warming up? Now we have real autum weather and lets hope for a little winter time at the end of the year.

Like some three-fingered alien claw, this tree looks more like a giant picking up a boulder for ammunition in a pitched forest battle.

I wouldn't want to the the recipient of that caber toss.

So far, I'm finding the forests of Nova Scotia to be truly enchanting during the summer season.

I can't wait to revisit during the autumn when hopefully that canopy will be glowing gold.

The vlog for this adventure should be out in a few weeks. Till then, enjoy this hand held shot with the 14mm.

The White-eyed Parakeet did not want to french kiss with an Orange-winged Parrot. Actually, the parrot was trying to nip at the Parakeet since it was bordering its territory. Looks can be deceiving.

Looks like a coronavirus, no?

I am often amazed as I walk around Belliseria just how much it looks like.. well a home. LL and the LDPW really did a fantastic job.

There are landmarks every landscape photographer wants to shoot, and Mobius Arch is one of them. The arch simply looks gorgeous with the ragged peaks of the Eastern Sierra in the backdrop.

A quick online search will reveal that most Milky Way nightscapes from Mobius Arch are captured from a lower and more westerly position than the famous daylight or sunrise shots. From this perspective, the arch still looks nice, but the view of the mountains is blocked by the surrounding rocks, making the composition less impressive. Unfortunately, the Milky Way core doesn't align with the Sierras behind the arch.

I shot Mobius Arch in this composition during previous visits but wasn't impressed by the results. That's why I tried to do things differently during my last visit in April 2022.

For this image, I captured Mobius Arch from its back side. From this position, the Milky Way bow perfectly aligns with the completely different but still nice-looking arch.

To my surprise, I haven't been able to find any images of Mobius Arch from this side, even though I was convinced that it has been shot from every possible angle thousands of times. If I really found a new perspective of this famous place, I entitle myself to give it a new, secondary name. For obvious reasons, I call it 'Sisyphus Arch'.

Shenandoah Valley. The population was 285 at the 2020 census. It is situated at the confluence of the Potomac and Shenandoah rivers, where the U.S. states of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia meet. It is the easternmost town in West Virginia and during the Civil War was the northernmost point of Confederate-controlled territory. It has been called, speaking of the Civil War, "the best strategic point in the whole South"

We all have those days. You get in from a busy day at work - with a stomach ache, might I add - sit down to eat your dinner and would you believe it? A chestburster. Not another one. And then, as your horrified wife asks if you meant to keep that monster, you explain to her that you'd wanted one for a while and would be forever indebted to her if she let you keep it, and that you're a bit preoccupied to be having this conversation right now.
