1 Main Street, Burlington, Vermont USA • From the lobby, looking East up Main Street. ∞ This structure was designed by Feilhelmer & Long of new York City. Per Wikipedia, Union Station … was built in 1915 of buff brick in the Beaux Arts style and is located at the western end of Main Street. Between December 2000 and February 2003 the station was a terminus of the commuter rail route Champlain Flyer. The station no longer has commuter rail passenger service, however it does provide tourist rail service for the Champlain Valley Flyer branch of the Green Mountain Scenic Railroad. The nearest Amtrak station is Essex Junction.

☞ For some dates & historical details, I am indebted to the Chittenden County Historical Society, and their fine, three volume set: Historic Guide to Burlington Neighborhoods: Vol. I, 1991; Vol. II, 1997;Vol. III, 2003. ☞ Part of a series of photos documenting my new home & neighborhood, in the heart of Vermont's largest town: Burlington 05401. • After almost a dozen years in rural Cornwall, 40 miles to the south, I have moved to one of the true outposts of optimism, on the eastern shore of Lake Champlain (the 6th Great Lake).

Cornwall, Vermont USA • Here's the first wet snow of the season, seen from inside the Emerald Gypsy.

The Emerald Gypsy (eGypsy) is a 1949 Ford F-5 Wayne shortbody schoolbus, motorhome conversion. It first served as a rural elementary schoolbus in Hemet, California. In the early 1960's it had its first conversion to a motorhome.

I bought it on eBay in May, 2007. It was my home • office • studio until August 2009. It is currently parked in Cornwall, Vermont USA.

For Sale, Where Is / As Is: 2015. (New Zealanders, I'm talking to YOU!) – Make me an offer.

My daughter's first attempt at painting her nails. She wouldn't let anyone help her. Miss independent!

Sometimes I slip away to take a photo without her. For instance she cannot help me take lizard photos. She just can't. And she doesn't really help with squirrels or birds, and even insects. This one was the moon, and while I don't think she would have scared it away she was sound asleep when I went out to get the shot. But she has a sixth sense that lets her know I'm somewhere and she's not.

BTW taken through the screen and a dirty glass sliding door at night, so it's hazy quality was all I had to work with and I only got one shot.

Shih tzu boy looking out through the window...he is a very inquisitive and naughty little boy!

A view out of some window or other in Melbourne.

An unusual looking cloud formation. Givin some interesting color in Camera Raw. Taken with my panasonic lx5. It reminds me of the newer War of the Worlds movie when the aliens were in the clouds and were about to attack!

Looking out of the school-room window at the Goulburn Brewery. I love the green light.

This is the Goulburn Brewery, Australias' oldest still-functioning (though on a much smaller scale than originally) brewery.

He was an amazing architect, and from what I can tell, a mathematical genius. He used a lot of the ratios that can be found in the pyramids & Egyptian art in his designs.

..... if a little hope is given

Here is my baby boy, Tommy. This was taken at the Pittsburgh Zoo over the weekend. We had such a great time. I wish we could have stayed longer but the short time we were there we had managed to cram a lot in. The visit felt a lot longer.

This shot was a bit wonky so I've straightened it up in the next post.
