A long exposure of City Hall, Frisco, TX. This building has some great structure and texture for photography.

I massaged this quiet a bit, trying unsuccesfully to get rid of the noise in the windows. It is much better than it was, it was like a starry night at first.

Still have a gruelling editing backlog; holiday snaps, Hat Fair and more. The renovations of my apartment have totally taken over.

More impressions of my summer stay in the Netherlands will follow, you'll find them HERE.

How does it feel to treat me like you do?

When you've laid your hands upon me and told me who you are

I thought I was mistaken, I thought I heard your words

Tell me how do I feel

Tell me now, how do I feel

Those who came before me lived through their vocations

From the past until completion, they'll turn away no more

And still I find it so hard to say what I need to say

But I'm quite sure that you'll tell me just how I should feel today

I see a ship in the harbor

I can and shall obey

But if it wasn't for your misfortune, I'd be a heavenly person today

And I thought I was mistaken, and I thought I heard you speak

Tell me, how do I feel

Tell me now, how should I feel

Now I stand here waiting

I thought I told you to leave me when I walked down to the beach

Tell me how does it feel, when your heart grows cold, grows cold, cold

“There were once two sisters

who were not afriad of the dark

because the dark was full of the other's voice

across the room,

because even when the night was thick

and starless

they walked home together from the river

seeing who could last the longest

without turning on her flashlight,

not afraid

because sometimes in the pitch of night

they'd lie on their backs

in the middle of the path

and look up until the stars came back

and when they did,

they'd reach their arms up to touch them

and did.”

Digitalis Purpurea, an extremely beautiful, but poisonous plant. The designs inside the tubes are fascinating.

I have always wanted to plant these, but I have been just too afraid while my kids are young.

chaos theory and focal lengths.

This is the 11,000th photo I've posted on flickr. It's not a number I'm particularly proud of, but I'm hoping that at least my kids will know where I was.

I started babysitting these girls when I was 11 years old, when the youngest was only a toddler. We took this photo in the yard between our houses, 13 years later, as they were about to move away.

When I was 3, the hair situation was kind of like the Crypt-keeper, but by the time I was 4, I was blond for about 6 months.

I remember during this photo, the photographer was waving some bizarre stuffed animal. My sister was into it, but I thought it was weird.

Yesterday, 7 June 2015, was a hot day – way too hot for my liking. Today, the forecast is for 30C this afternoon. I wasn’t keen on the idea of being out in the sun for three hours, but neither could I have stayed in my place one more minute - it feels like an oven!

Decided to join birding friends for a walk at the west end of South Glenmore Park and we had a lovely, leisurely walk, stopping often to look at, or listen to, a variety of birds. I think my favourites were a pair of colourful American Goldfinch. It was also fun to see this little Black-capped Chickadee looking out from its nest cavity. Will add Janet and Bernie’s bird list below, for my own memory.

There were quite a few species of wildflower as well. I so rarely go on a walk, so I tend to miss many of the wildflowers.

Thanks for such an enjoyable afternoon, both of you! A stop afterwards at the Good Earth café was so much appreciated, too.
