After a massive BBQ and some great banter, we headed out in the pitch black to the Loch. This was taken gone midnight on a long exposure (nearly 5 mins).
There was virtually no light, so I gradually increased the exposure times after each shot until this one came out. It's amazing how much light 'appears' in the pitch black,
Some shots from an amazing weekend over in Ireland with my good friend Leigh. One of the best weekends I can remember...and I'll hopefully be heading back for more sometime. It's such a beautiful place.
February 27 - after a several hours of driving, we stop at Manning Lodge to stretch our legs. Ok, to do a few hours of skiing. What a great day to be outdoors, and thank you groomers for setting such a perfect trail!
We apparently wore them out.
While she was sleeping we ran out in the pouring ran to buy wines and cheeses and of course cupcakes.
The Centennial Park, with 189 hectares (470 acres),[4][5] is the largest of the three parks that make up the Centennial Parklands. Centennial Park comprises 2.2 square kilometres (0.85 sq mi) of open space and lightly wooded grounds located within the City of Randwick.[6] It was originally swampland, known as Lachlan Swamps.[1] Centennial Park is one of Australia's most famous parks and is listed on the Register of the National Estate;[7] and is a grand park in the Victorian period tradition featuring formal gardens, ponds, grand avenues, statues, historic buildings and sporting fields

04 OCTOBER 2020
2nd part of the day.
Took the Manly ferry to Manly.
Short walk to The Pantry Manly for some food and a drink. Awesome location. Overlooking the beach! Had their Manly Mule. Bold cocktail. High alcohol content but it was GREAT! The dish was Fresh Humpty Doo Barramundi Fillet GRILLED with lemon to squeeze + warm salad of artichokes, asparagus, baby potatoes,
roasted cherry tomatoes & goats cheese. I really enjoyed the dish. For a dish like that, normally, the fish is great but the sides are not...This was different - the veggies were incredible.
Took a long walk along the beach. Sun was going down so I was able to get some creative shots. I love the one with the road turning and sloping down and the sun rays coming from behind the trees and the sea in the background! The original uncropped is so pretty...
Ended at Shelly Beach.
Took a few pictures including one of my writing in the sand and a picture of this family sitting down the ramp. Isolated. Looking at the sea and the sunset together. I quickly took the shot and left, I didn't want to ruin their moment. Some people are just EXTREMELY blessed, that's for sure!
Stone wall...
Round vitreaux window...
Olive leaves ( form an enormous olive tree!)..
Iron street lamp with elegant details....
produce the following in my mind:
Simplicity --> Beauty --> Basics o life --> Poetry --> Truthfullness
While we were sleeping a 17 year old un-licensed girl who'd had a bit too much to drink decided to spin out in her mum's car and plough it into a tree.
Now, beyond this tree 15-20m away is the tent which I was sleeping in which has no other obstacles in the path. THANK YOU TREE!!
Dumb bitch...
It seemed to take forever for the sun to appear from behind the thick band of cloud. Not entierly happy with the resulting shot, but after waiting so long I took it anyway.

Newly Weds: Manfred & Katrina T.
At some point in my life I really disliked weddings...not just because of EVERYTHING that leads up to the ceremony...having to dress up, getting drenched in a suit on a hot day, socialising with people and the rest of it...but A LOT because I'd feel sad for myself when seeing them together and knowing that they'll have each other for the rest of their lives while I'll probably be single forever. It may well be true! I'm not that young... When I get invited I make it a point to attend IF I CAN to honour their decision to commit together to a marriage. I'm probably happier for them than anyone else because I've always been single.
Then again, The Man of Sorrows attended a wedding and performed his first miracle. Miracle because of its complexity. He changed water into wine. Even for a guy like me...I can pick up ingredients from the shops and put together a dish on a Saturday night. To turn water into wine requires a combination of ingredients, a specific process and a certain period of time. What I'm talking about is something that is out of the ordinary. That's why wine making, tasting and competing for awards is a real skill! It's a craft, it's an art form.
It's been a while since I attended a wedding and it was my first time attending on a boat. There were lovely views on the river and it was nice and cool in the evening with the breeze. I had a pleasant Saturday afternoon all the way to the night!
