Not entierly sure what this concrete 'hut' was for (coastal defence lookout?) but it really made a stark contrast in an otherwise natural environment.
Some shots from an amazing weekend over in Ireland with my good friend Leigh. One of the best weekends I can remember...and I'll hopefully be heading back for more sometime. It's such a beautiful place.
I loved their suitcases that they all carried. They would re apply makeup, change part of their costume all while staying on the bridge.
We apparently wore them out.
While she was sleeping we ran out in the pouring ran to buy wines and cheeses and of course cupcakes.

2nd part of the day.
Took the Manly ferry to Manly.
Short walk to The Pantry Manly for some food and a drink. Awesome location. Overlooking the beach! Had their Manly Mule. Bold cocktail. High alcohol content but it was GREAT! The dish was Fresh Humpty Doo Barramundi Fillet GRILLED with lemon to squeeze + warm salad of artichokes, asparagus, baby potatoes,
roasted cherry tomatoes & goats cheese. I really enjoyed the dish. For a dish like that, normally, the fish is great but the sides are not...This was different - the veggies were incredible.
Took a long walk along the beach. Sun was going down so I was able to get some creative shots. I love the one with the road turning and sloping down and the sun rays coming from behind the trees and the sea in the background! The original uncropped is so pretty...
Ended at Shelly Beach.
Took a few pictures including one of my writing in the sand and a picture of this family sitting down the ramp. Isolated. Looking at the sea and the sunset together. I quickly took the shot and left, I didn't want to ruin their moment. Some people are just EXTREMELY blessed, that's for sure!
Stone wall...
Round vitreaux window...
Olive leaves ( form an enormous olive tree!)..
Iron street lamp with elegant details....
produce the following in my mind:
Simplicity --> Beauty --> Basics o life --> Poetry --> Truthfullness
While we were sleeping a 17 year old un-licensed girl who'd had a bit too much to drink decided to spin out in her mum's car and plough it into a tree.
Now, beyond this tree 15-20m away is the tent which I was sleeping in which has no other obstacles in the path. THANK YOU TREE!!
Dumb bitch...
It seemed to take forever for the sun to appear from behind the thick band of cloud. Not entierly happy with the resulting shot, but after waiting so long I took it anyway.

Newly Weds: Manfred & Katrina T.
At some point in my life I really disliked weddings...not just because of EVERYTHING that leads up to the ceremony...having to dress up, getting drenched in a suit on a hot day, socialising with people and the rest of it...but A LOT because I'd feel sad for myself when seeing them together and knowing that they'll have each other for the rest of their lives while I'll probably be single forever. It may well be true! I'm not that young... When I get invited I make it a point to attend IF I CAN to honour their decision to commit together to a marriage. I'm probably happier for them than anyone else because I've always been single.
Then again, The Man of Sorrows attended a wedding and performed his first miracle. Miracle because of its complexity. He changed water into wine. Even for a guy like me...I can pick up ingredients from the shops and put together a dish on a Saturday night. To turn water into wine requires a combination of ingredients, a specific process and a certain period of time. What I'm talking about is something that is out of the ordinary. That's why wine making, tasting and competing for awards is a real skill! It's a craft, it's an art form.
It's been a while since I attended a wedding and it was my first time attending on a boat. There were lovely views on the river and it was nice and cool in the evening with the breeze. I had a pleasant Saturday afternoon all the way to the night!

Don't be fooled by the groggy expression here. Hegle Supercat is back, and better (?) than ever. See, she got spayed yesterday morning, which meant she spend the night before at the vet. She came home yesterday evening, and we shut her in the Pretty Princess Room to give her some time to get her feet back under her. She seemed fairly groggy, and we wondered if she'd need more time in there.
Well. This morning? All seemed to be forgotten. As soon as one of us was moving around in the early hours, she wanted O-U-T. And then she bounced off the walls (literally) for hours. It was the old Hegle, but on rocket fuel. This evening she was especially excited to be helping herself to dinner (she loves salad. And sweet potatoes. And broccoli frittata), which Boomer used as a chance to slip her some pain meds. After which Hegle conked out for about 10 minutes on the folded-up quilt Boomer is binding for KtG. Then this photo was taken, a little yawny head-scritching followed, and suddenly -- BOOM! She was flitting around like an unusually manic hummingbird again.
For the record, after having her for only a little over a month we were shocked at how quiet the house seemed during her two evenings out of the mix. She's definitely an essential member of the family now.
There was some festival going on where the top two universities in the city had some kind of competition about who could get the most food and drink for free from local bars and restaurants
They stopped making these cans in the 80s! I wonder how long it has been in the park.
Seen in Rattlesnake Point Provincial Park, September 2nd, 2007.
The crowds were getting to be at a dangerous level and more were pouring in down George Street.
If there had been an incident and then a panic, where would we go?
