This fallen log lies at the edge of a golf course in Lansdowne VA. I ran out between sessions of a workshop that I was attending there, and got plenty of shots of the local nature.
Originally made for our guest room, now used in the master bed room of our "new" house!

We have been logging and not logging. The real and digital timbers have shouldered in our quest for a happier life. The virtual lumber productions have given us a smile whilst the real is warming our cockles.

displays for a company that builds more exclusive (basically large 5+ bedroom) Log Cabin Houses. trust me, these types of houses are wayyyy more expensive than your basic large american home.
The forest is slowly creeping back over the farmland.
The people had the heart to make a house for the wild birds. A house on a house. There's even a nest on top of the birds' house..
I made some forms to keep record of darkroom procedures that I want to keep track of. Dave told me I should share them. And since I do whatever anybody tells me to do, here you go. :)

Ready for Winter fires! Lots of firewood in this area after all the trees that came down during the June Tornado!
Amy decided to dig into a rotting, fallen log in order to find "termites." She was a woman possessed. By the time she was finished, she had dug away at least half of the tree and she couldn' t help herself. We saw one skitter away, but more interesting was what little creatures awaited.
I put a whole log that had rotted out from the center on top of the fire, I kinda liked the funky way it burned from the center out with a flame coming out the hole in the top of it.
