This was taken in the Manistee National forest in Manistee, MI.

Next we moved on to Kakslauttanen, in Lapland. It is about 450km inside the arctic circle, and at this time of year the sun never fully rose. We had about 4 hours of twilight a day.

But we kept warm with a log fire!

A log is a great enrichment item for our giant anteaters! They use their 6 inch claws to break through the wood.

Anteaters use their powerful arms and claws to defend themselves against predators and to rip through ant and termite mounds.
