When I brought in a log for the fireplace, I noticed a miniature world on its surface. Here are two macros, not of oceanic life, but of life on a log.
A misty winter’s day in Ribblesdale as the Carlisle-Chirk log train passes Low Moor just south of Selside.
This cedar log home had years of coat build up of Sikkens stain. There was a lot of issues due to the coat build up. The logs werent breathing and this was leading to two problems. First, logs were starting to rot since they could not properly dry out. Second, the finish was peeling and the caulking was failing since the logs couldn't breathe. Excess moisture that becomes trapped can cause lots of issues.
Thankfully we got rid of that old stain, replaced some logs and railings and renewed the spirit of the client and their log home.
The setting sun was very nice, though it kind of came from the wrong direction for truly nice photos.
