I did get another gas mask! I've foiled the glas of the gas mask with a black foil and modified the internal filter port. And I did get another rubber collar which can be locked with a padlock. With the zentai hood and gloves on it can be challenging to find the small keys of the padlock and to unlock the color but I did it :-)

What do you think? What to do next with that new gear?

mailbox lock in the George Washington Hotel in Winchester, VA which is an old, historic grand hotel that has been beautifully restored & maintained, It is on the National Register of Historic Places. The hotel was frankly, one of the highlights of our trip through Winchester, VA.

A long(ish) exposure to get the feeling of movement of the water tumbling over Lock 19 on the Forth and Clyde Canal.

Song/artist I listened to a lot today and therefore influenced this photo... maybe: Be Ok by Ingrid Michaelson.

Lock 90 on the Manchester canal near deansgate castlefield

The road was built for the pedestrians. I guess, with time, there were vehicles which also plied too. So the administration built this barrier to reserve its usage for its original purpose, and all it needed was a small lock to preserve its objective.

Our Daily Challenge: Locks

In 1767, a project was started to turn Cod Beck into a canal. Where the Lock Bridge stands today was what would have been a canal basin and lock. Hence the reason the river is so wide downstream from the present day bridge. Funds ran out for the canal project and the work was never completed. Some of the stone for the unfinished lock was used to build the bridge over the beck that stands to this day, a picturesque feature and a favourite walk from Sowerby Flatts.

This part of the Cod Beck is favoured by people walking their dogs. The dogs that like water are in their element, especially in the summer.

Lock 40 of the Forth and Clyde Canal at Bowling harbour on the River Clyde. There are 39 locks on the canal. So how can this be Lock 40?

Camden Lock Market est un endroit totalement ahurissant au coeur de Camden Town, au nord de Londres.

When I see a locked gate...am I locked out, or are they locked in? If they are locked in, should I be worried about who is behind the gate? If I am locked out, should I be insulted? Maybe it's best that I just take the photo and move on...

Several days of persistent rain have caused water to cascade over the lock shuttering.

For Monday's Photo Challenge, anything goes. This is the last in the Baker Hotel series. Who knows what mysteries might still be found in this haunted hotel located in Mineral Wells, TX. To see more of the Photo Challenges and Thursday Retreads, check out this link...

Grove Lock at Leighton Buzzard in Bedfordshire.

Went to Grove Lock to have a look around and get some tips for a forthcoming barge holiday, and met an old RAF colleague coming through on E=mc2, from our time at RAF Lyneham back in the 1990's!

It was great to reminisce over a beer before we all had to go our separate ways, two old Chiefs with our tales of old, a great way to spend an hour on a sunny afternoon.

There's a special atmosphere all around Camden Road and Camden Lock, with heaps of shops and markets in the area.

18.2.2017. After being derelict for years, the Lock Keepers cottage at Forest Lock on the Chesterfield Canal has been done up and is now inhabited once again.

In Korakuen amusement park there is this wall where young couples can attach locks as a symbol of their affection for each other. I've seen similar things like this in other countries but it amuses me that the symbol of a lock may conjure up a different image when they have been married for ten years. Maybe I'm just being cynical :)

Off to Guam in the morning so won't be posting commenting for about a week but will make up for it when I get back.

By the way, the latest beta of Photomatix rocks. No more converting to TIFF for my Canon 5D MKII raw files.

... on the Rochdale Canal in Littleborough, a scene I first shot and posted in December 2018 when the sky was a clear blue.

The reflection this time is equally as good but the cumulus clouds have enhanced the image still further.
