1) Was there ever a time during the pandemic when you felt as though your mental health was being tested?
I have an extroverted personality so the pandemic was really hard on me. I'd say my mental health was tested all of 2020. I've had issues with depression in the past but it was never as bad as it was in that first year of COVID-19. It was so bad that I ended up seeking medical help.
2) If so, what did you do to combat those emotions?
I started helping myself feel better about the situation by speaking to a doctor and getting prescribed antidepressants. I had never taken antidepressants before but it was a long time coming and I'm happy I did it. Aside from that, whenever I was feeling anxious or sad I would write songs. I actually wrote a song about how I was feeling in those first couple of weeks of lockdown.
3) We're coming up on two years of this global pandemic, do you think we'll ever get back to the way things were before? If not, how do you see the world once we've reached the other side?
Honestly, I don't think we're going to be able to get back to where we were. It's going to be normal but a new normal. I can see certain people in the world still being cautious of other viruses and diseases. I'll definitely be keeping hand sanitizer on me at all times.
