Being a keen cyclist with more time and good weather, it has been a case of only snapping the odd bus with my iphone whilst out enjoying my government mandated exercise during the Covid lockdown. However, I have captured a few of the odd vehicle movements as operators used the most fuel efficient vehicles or those best suited to applying social distancing.
First e400mmc 33946 YX66WEV is normally allocated to Bath for use on the U1 linking the city with the main university. However, it had been deployed on the main 376 Bristol to Street service working for Wells depot when seen on May 16 2020 between Glastonbury and Street.
Set myself a task to create something abstract with just a simple subject of 4 sheets of A3 plain paper,

Very little traffic on a dark cloudy Saturday afternoon. The bus must be ahead of schedule as the driver has got out to check his smartphone.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson yesterday evening put the United Kingdom into lockdown to tackle the coronavirus pandemic, with people told to stay at home, with a handful of exceptions - one being that they can undertake one form of exercise a day, including cycling, provided they do so alone or with members of their household.
So I did. Alone. And avoided everyone.
Strangest sight: a chap driving is own car but wearing a facemask and latex gloves. Odd.

A truly amazing sculpture, Contemplations in Lockdown, in hand painted bronze resin by Jonathan Hateley. So much to look at, so much to take in, so many angles to look at it from. Photographs do not really do it justice, Nicole (my wife) and I could of happily stood and looked all day.
This was the lockdown project of Jonathan Hateley, and all the words and phrases representing the period were offered by followers on his social media channels.
During the UK wide COVID-19 lockdown I was finding it frustrating that I couldn't really venture out and shoot the sort of things I normally do. So with plenty of time on my hands indoors, I decided to set myself a little challenge, to document my family in as simple a way as possible.
Basically all I used was one main camera - my Sony A7iii and one lens - my Sigma ART 35mm f/1.4. I would shoot only in camera JPEG and use the in camera black and white profile.
In post process, all I did was some simple crop and rotation corrections. Im sure I have one leg bigger than the other - always seem to be wonky!
I really like the set of images and I might make a little book out of them. I think it captures our moods quite well. Happy one moment, and bored and sad the next.
Kinda glad we can venture out a bit more these days; even if we aren't completely out of the woods yet. The freedom feels amazing....!
In the early hours of the 23rd of January, the district of Yau Tsim Mong was placed under lockdown. Only those who have been tested negative are able to leave.
I drove by the area and snapped this. Just before dawn. It was very lively despite the early hours of the day.

Happy 200th day of lockdown, Melbourne.
Image taken with a Corfield Periflex. Standard 50mm f3.5, Lumar lens on Ilford FP4+.
My first test shoot with the camera. All went well until unloading the film. As I took the camera out of the outer case, the back fell off exposing the film. I hastily rushed to place the camera into a changing bag. Although there were a number of shots lost and some light leakage, I was able to save some photos.
A really unusual camera. When focusing, there is a periscope device that you push down for an enlarged view of the subject, allowing you to focus.
The camera was made by Corfield in Wolverhampton, UK in 1953.
I could try and blame the current lockdown for this shot but I've been occasionally making these 'flipped' shots for a while now......
The colourful and reflective interior of this'pop-up' make-up store for Huda Beauty in Covent Garden made for interesting abstract images. As it was largely designed to be 'instagrammable' there were plenty of other people taking photos so I didn't get too many strange looks.

I hadn't heard of Huda Beauty but it seems they're quite well known....... Wikipedia states "Huda Beauty is a cosmetics line launched in 2013 by Iraqi-American businesswoman and makeup artist, Huda Kattan. The founder, Kattan, was chosen as one of "The 25 Most Influential People on the Internet" by Time in 2017, listed as one of The Richest Self-Made Women and one of the Top Three Beauty Influencers by Forbes. In the span of 5 years, the brand has built a positive reputation on some of its products, such as fake eyelashes series, a collection of foundation, eyeshadow and some face palettes."

The 2020 spring lockdown saw us make many more very local walks, thus catching these fellas in the evening sun.
