Incoming Hawk
This local red-taled hawk was hunting off of this post for about 2 hours yesterday.. a superb scene. several photographers stood back and enjoy real nature at its very best... spectacular! allowing a bird to hunt and kill with the survival skills it was given, is a privilege to witness.
After 3 voles, and a full crock it flew off to another perch to rest safely.
Since this hawk is so young, it has no extensive fear of humans. For some reason they learn that skill in time.
Unfortunately, people who feed them mice mess up the entire scene, creating an un-natural, and abusive interaction, just too lazy and impatient to work for real nature images., a very sad situation.
Personally, I would rather watch these birds all day and get nothing, then force them into my camera zone with garbage food from a pet store.
Hoping that our government wakes up, and puts a law against the baiters. also hoping that some photographers agree with me and speak out against baiting.
Best wishes.

It’s been ages since I saw a play. Lately, I only go to see Beefy perform. My neighbor and I agree that we should take in more local theater.
I’ll take any excuse to dress up a little. Tonight, it was seeing Beefy in Family Cabins. The play was the Sacramento News & Review Stage Pick of the Week! Totally worth dressing up for.
