On the free motorhome parking at Méharicourt we were able to see how they make traditional blue dye from woad.
One drum is already 'cooking', the second is being loaded with freshly cut woad (la waide).
When I saw the prompt, I thought of my doctor's appt and what she was going to say. I typed up the journaling to show her, she posed for a picture and wrote me a script for exercise.... but I promised her those would go no further than my own scrapbook.
(She loved "her" words and had nothing else to add... though the last bullet item was something that she had actually said to me before.

Load your trailer with the jeep, quad and motorcycle because this trail system has it all! Practice your skills on some of the easy OHV trails in the valley bottom or head out on the ridges to test your skills on Trail #34, a spectacular rock crawl area featured in Peterson’s Off-road and 4-wheeler 2012 Ultimate Adventure. The trails at North Barr meander through ancient juniper and twisted lava rock with gorgeous views of the Cascade Mountains. Often dusty in the summer months, this trail system offers phenomenal riding options when other areas are rained out or snowed in!
Know Before You Go:
The Trailhead is open YEAR ROUND but the best riding is October-May. Stay on designated trails.
No Fees; overnight camping is allowed with restrooms but no water.
All OHVs are limited to 96 decibels
Be prepared for any weather, bring safety gear, and ride within your skill level.
Be aware of your surroundings and know how to read a map and use a compass. Take care to avoid crossing on to private land.
Directions: The North Barr Trailhead is one of two trailheads in the Cline Buttes Central Motorized Trail Use Area. To get there, from Redmond head west about 7 miles on Highway 126 toward Sisters. Turn south on Barr Road and the trailhead will be on your right in about ¼ mile.
Point of Interest: Take some time to slow down your ride – enjoy the spectacular old-growth juniper, exposed basalt formations, amazing wildlife like deer and eagles, and the scenery of our sagebrush country.

Over the course of the day, 10th SFG troops, and A co. Blackhawks performed para-drop operations, and then the Blackhawks moved dozens of sling loads, all to support the Pathfinder class. The class will follow with more C-130, CH-47, and UH-60 operations (to include NVG ops) over the next few days and nights.

Photos I took in 2011 of a Freightliner Columbia and Peterbilt 379 (or 378) oversize load semi truck in Reno. These two rigs are both carrying a Caterpillar Challenger MT 835C tractor on a lowboy trailer. Not a huge load but interesting nonetheless.

Loading straight tracers into my ammo tray. Small box held 300 rounds, main box held 1200. Could never have too much ammo! You can see the various colored smoke grenades on the verticle support. White smoke on the gun mount was a quick release drop point to mark incoming enemy fire locations.
I did this layout for today´s color challenge, I chose a picture of my parents wedding almost 30 years ago, sadly they are no longer together, but I know they once were happy together...I used soft colors that I think fit perfectly with wedding pictures and convey a feeling of serenity, new beginnings, etc.
I need to add the date and some journaling details to the page, but will have to do it tomorrow morning when I get to talk to my mother and get some details of the date and other things I want to add on the page. The layout design is a lift from Stephanie Howell and I used Studio Calico continental kit to put together this page. I´m really happy with the result, what do you think? TFL
PHILIPPINE SEA (Sept. 28, 2017) - Sailors load supplies on a palette to be transported to the Military Sealift Command's dry cargo and ammunition ship, USNS Wally Schirra (T-AKE 8), in the hangar bay of the Navy's forward-deployed aircraft carrier, USS Ronald Reagan (CVN 76), during a replenishment-at-sea while conducting bilateral training exercises in the Philippine Sea with Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force (JMSDF) ship JS Sazanami (DD 113). Exercises like this occur routinely throughout the year with U.S. Navy and JMSDF ships, reflecting the close partnership of our forces.
