Reading to Kris. Kris has always been a big fan of books. At age 2, he enjoys having Grandma, Grandpa & Daddy read to him. Here's hoping that his love of books & reading continues throughout his life!

I'm finally looking at pictures I took a long time ago to see if they are worth keeping. This was taken January 2008 in downtown Walla Walla, WA in an alley. According to the sign painted on the bricks in the upper left (out of sight) this was the Walla Walla Candy Co. Manufacturers & Jobbers of Confectionery.

This is a 6 x 8 2 pp spread plus the journaling is a half of a 3 x 8 page protector. The image circled on the lower left side is Mt. Rainier on a somewhat cloudy day...but the mountain was discernible. The circles are 2" vellum squares and the clouds, 2 " transparencies.

Now There Are None

This is for Ali Edwards' One LIttle Word class, January's self portrait assignment. My word this year is focus and when I looked at google images, I saw a similar photo. Since I don't know all the ins and outs of my camera yet . . . my face isn't quite as out of focus as I wanted. But I am happy with the results. My plan is to take a picture at the end of the year with me in focus and my word blurry. Hopefully by then I'll have figured out how to focus my camera.

I flipped the sketch and changed up a few things. The kit I used is These Days by Captivated Visions. This was a lot of fun.

We were testing a recipe that my Grandmother had hand written for the cookbook we made for our Mother. No one had ever made it before...the recipe wasn't that great but the cookbook was a success!
