I never use this much STUFF on my pages... well, not usually. But I just kept pulling things out of drawers, it all fell together, and it doesn't look over-stuffed.
Plus! Behind the picture of my ballerina girl is not cardstock but rather, an envelope. Inside the red envelope is not a diamond tennis bracelet for mommy but the special note that the kids wrote. Equally as valuable, right? :)

I laughed out loud when I saw this old Honda wobbling along, struggling under load on its daily commute.
My computer is so old and knackered that if I'm doing anything major - like uploading loads of pics onto flickr, - I knit whilst it does it...I knit a whole fish tonight loading up holiday pics, hmmm, time for an upgrade?
I always end up using LOAD to check off layouts from my to-do list. This is the May Layout for my year-long "Faves" project. Concept and template by Nettio Designs.
This is my third year (doing it every other year) doing the project. I really like looking back at the old layouts. Hopefully I can get caught up this LOAD.

We're loading cast iron into containers for our Indian customer again, 28 tonnes to the box. It gets a bit fraught trying to our own job and take time out to load containers. We've had some interesting driver problems. It staggers me how incapable some drivers are despite driving countless thousands of miles a year for most of their lives. One came up High House Lane (another!) One followed another up there again today and they both got stuck. One took the corner off his cab on Linfit Lane - two hours after he passed the end of the proper road in - two hours lost and he was at the end of our road at 7.30 - then he had to ring and we talked him in. we had to lead two others in from High House Lane. When you get 100 yards up High House lane it's One in four, the road surface is total disintegrated to rubble, the trees and weeds overhang so that it looks too narrow for a transit, the road disappears around a one in four blind corned between walls that a trailer has to be dragged around as the road is nine foot wide, too narrow to drive around. Nobody right in their f.....g head would drive a 44 tonner up it!

I find it hard to believe that you are nine years old now. Where did the time go? You are growing up so fast and truly becoming more of a man every day. You are a hard worker and are always there to help Daddy with the next job. You are also a wonderful big brother always making time for Christopher and Caleb and making them feel good. I harvested this doe today (12 19 2010) with my muzzle loader. My third deer of the season and my last.
This Quick-loader trailer is perfect for loading my heavy bike on my own. The centre drops down at the back by way of a winch. Drive bike on, bracket at front holds bike upright whilst you get off and winch the bed up. Then simply strap bike down. Perfect. About R15K from Gauteng. Just Google for "Quick Loader" + motorbike.

Metropolitan Wharf
Warehouse Conversion
Metropolitan Wharf is a significant 6-storey, Grade II Listed, purpose built Victorian riverside warehouse. Built between 1862 and 1898 it sits as one of London’s most impressive collection of wharf buildings located within a context dominated by residential use at ground and upper levels.
In contrast to this context the brief to Hawkins\Brown Architects for the project was to produce modern, yet cost effective studio workspace aimed at start-up businesses and the creative industries. Crowning the building are eight 2,400-3,800 sqft penthouses designed in collaboration with Tom Dixon’s design company, Design Research Studio, with studio offices over the five upper floors to provide accommodation to suit a wide range of businesses.
The overarching concept that the architects developed for the building was to create ‘a village within the contours of the wharf’, providing a wealth of curated facilities to support new businesses and residents alike. It was envisioned that the ground floor would offer concierge lobby facilities, a destination restaurant, local grocers/deli, a newsagent, gallery space and a cafe, to be accessed from Met Walk, a cut that has been made through the building connecting the street to the river.

The fit-out of our new offices in Wapping was carefully undertaken to minimise the impact on the Grade II listed warehouse building.
Free-standing partitions, shelving, kitchen and storage units constructed from naturally-finished plywood give a visual coherence and warmth to the open plan office space that contrasts with the white painted brick, timber and cast iron of the warehouse structure. The plywood is complemented by other natural materials; galvanised cable trays and cork pin-up boards.
The layout of the office emphasises the open, collaborative nature of the practice whilst providing different environments to work in.
