Santa Catalina Mts., Pima Co., Arizona - Largest adult I've seen (snout-vent length ~ 5 inches) probably end of 3rd year with stripes almost completely disintegrated and they will be if it lives another year, BUT just as I finished photographing it, a Sonoran Whipsnake streaked out of the brush and attacked. Lucky for Burtty, the snake wasn't quite big enough to land him and Burtty got away.
It wasn't particularly warm or sunny on Saturday but there was still a fair number of wall lizards out. Mainly the young ones......and I've noticed the same with commons and sand lizards. It seems to mainly the young ones having to stay out feeding and growing as long as possible before they bed down for the winter. There was a still a few adults about....but as each week goes by there are less of them out.
On Saturday June 13 2015 I joined the SCVN led lizard walk. This follows the Bear Canyon Trail to the creek and then up to Sabino Lake with an emphasis (of course) on lizards.

Me and Haldis spent a week in Provence, being romantic and tourists. We drove around the Haute-Provence and saw lots of nice nature and villages. Even a day of climbing!

Antwerp National Zoo.
Antwerp Zoo (Dutch: ZOO Antwerpen) is a zoo in the centre of Antwerp, Belgium, located next to the Antwerpen-Centraal railway station. It is the oldest animal park in the country, and one of the oldest in the world, established on 21 July 1843.
The first time I saw this lizard on the bridge, it was dark brown, but by the time it had crossed the bridge, its skin had turned a beautiful gold and azure colour.
